411’s WWE Superstars Report 02.27.15

* Hello all, you may not remember me but I remember you. I’m back doing Superstars and Main Event recaps for your reading pleasure. I realize this column should have been up Friday night, but I spent a weekend at Mohegan Sun taking in Bellator along all of the gambling sights and sounds. And now, it’s time to recap Superstars!

* Match times are not exact. I’m not an atomic clock even though I wish I was.

Adam Rose vs. Erick Rowan

Before the match, Adam Rose waves off the Rosebuds and doesn’t do his standard trust fall entrance. Rose starts off rolling to avoid a lockup. He then ducks out of another one in the corner and throws a couple of chops, which Rowan seems to enjoy. Rowan gets tired of the games and throws a big boot. Rose ducks but Rowan hits him with a clothesline on the way back. Rose goes to the outside of the ring and the Rosebuds sing for him. Rowan roars and the Rosebuds run away! Back in the ring, Rowan catches a kick attempt, throws Rose to the ground, then picks him up and charges him into the corner. Rowan goes for another charge in the corner but Rose counters with an enziguri and follows up with a dropkick from the top. Rose then works Rowan over with multiple elbows on the ground. He goes for a pin but only gets a one count and then locks in a rear sleeper deal. Rowan throws Rose off with his brute viking hillbilly strength and then charges Rose in the corner and follows up with a big biel. He charges him again in another corner, Rose comes out, and Rowan hits a POUNCE….PERIOD! After that, the full nelson slam ends it for Rowan.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Erick Rowan @ 2:47 via Full Nelson Slam
RATING: This was a quick back and forth contest built to show Rowan’s dominance. I enjoyed him roaring at the Rosebuds as a nice bit of character building, but ultimately the match was nothing to write home about. *¼

* Wrestlemania is 30 days away! But I posted this column late so… Wrestlemania is 28 days away!

* We get the still picture recap of Roman Reigns vs. Daniel Bryan at Fast Lane.

* They air the Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns promo from Raw.

* GUYS! SHEAMUS IS COMING BACK! GET EXCITED!

* Still picture treatment again, but this time it’s Cena vs. Rusev.

* Another Raw Rebound airs. This one is from John Cena’s promo on Monday, challenging Rusev to a match at Wrestlemania.

* Vince McMahon on the cover of this month’s Muscle & FItness. The man is terrifying. TERRIFYING! Seriously, if I ever ran into Vince in a dark alley, I’d turn around and run the other way.

Luke Harper vs. Kofi Kingston w/ The New Day

The two men lock up and Harper immediately shoves Kofi off. The exact same thing happens a second time, because Kofi truly believed he had become stronger in a matter of seconds I guess. They got for a third lockup but this time Kofi ducks and does a bunch of chain stuff until he has Harper in a side headlock. Harper whips him off and hits him with a big ol’ shoulder block, because Harper doesn’t play around. Kofi gets up and goes for some kicks. He hits a couple but Harper catches one and then just shoves Kofi down. He charges but Kofi gets up and hits a back elbow followed by a dropkick. Then he gets a rollup but it’s only a one! Harper runs after Kofi but Kofi low bridges and sends Harper to the outside. He goes for a dive but Harper moves so Kofi stops himself short on the inside of the ring and now we have a TOTAL DIVAS COMMERCIAL! When Tyson Kidd poses with models in their underwear, is Natty going to be able to contain herself?! Back from the break, and Kofi is unloading with strikes but Harper has none of it and hits a big European uppercut. He gets Kofi into the corner and works him over a little. He whips Kofi into another corner but Kofi does the up and over and comes back for a monkey flip but Harper catches him in a suplex for a two count! NOT TODAY, KOFI! Harper begins stomping on Kofi in the corner. Kofi begins to fight back but Harper hits another big uppercut to bring him right back down. Harper gets Kofi in between the bottom two ropes and hits the slingshot for a two count. Harper then works Kofi over on the ground with some gator rolls before locking in a grounded side headlock. Harper continues to work Kofi over. He goes for an elbow drop but Kofi moves. BOth men get back to their feet and Kofi unloads with a couple of chops and a dropkick. He then hits the flying clothesline and Harper is down! Kofi hits the Boom Drop and begins clapping for the Trouble in Paradise. Harper backs up into the corner and Kofi goes for another monkey flip. Harper gets him again for a suplex but Kofi wiggles out and backs up into a corner.Harper charges but gets kicked in the face for his troubles and Kofi hits a top rope crossbody for two! Harper powders out and we have a TOPE CON HILO FROM KOFI! (Side note, I love dives. I will always get excited for dives.) They get back in the ring and Kofi goes for a discus strike but instead gets black hole slammed for two. Harper goes for a clothesline but Kofi counters into the SOS for two. Kofi goes for a rollup but Harper powers him up and Kofi counters into a front dropkick! Harper goes for a neckbreaker, Kofi counters, Harper strikes, AND THEN HITS THE DISCUS LARIAT! THAT’S ALL SHE WROTE!

OFFICIAL RESULT: Luke Harper @ 8:40 via Discus Lariat
RATING: **¾ This was quite enjoyable. Very back and forth and some impressive and athletic spots. Harper is one of my favorites on the roster and I really hope they do something more with him at some point. It’s disappointing to see him on Superstars, even if it means I get to review his matches.

* The Bushwhackers Hall of Fame video airs. I’m excited for them being inducted. Their Sheepherders work more than merits it and it’s very clear that WWE is now treating territorial work as important in their Hall of Fame criteria, even if the Hall of Fame video itself is all ridiculous WWE vignette footage. I really hope it keeps up and we see guys from the territories continue to get their due. Also, how in the world did these two get away with licking children? Nobody was put off by that?!

* A recap of the main event tag match from Raw (Randy Orton/Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns/Daniel Bryan) airs.
