411’s WWE Table for 3: Kings Court Report

Original air date: Nov 11, 2015

-Fairly simple concept this time as they put 3 former King of the Ring Winners together. Those Kings are Sheamus, William Regal, and King Barrett.

-Barrett quickly mentions they are all former King of the Ring winners and asks Sheamus to discuss his reign. Sheamus says he knew it would be a great opportunity to be different as he hated the initial crown and robe. Barrett busts on him for the outfit and Regal mentions that they are probably the 3 worst King of the Rings ever and this is probably done to mock them. I wouldn’t put it past anyone actually. Barrett and Sheamus joke they never won a match after winning the crown and Regal says he went to being a General Manager.

-Regal mentions he tried to get into a dark place with the character, but putting a crown on him made him look funny. His mindset was to be a dark character. Sheamus and Barrett say they took it back to it’s roots as a comedy character so to speak.

-They talk about Regal embarrassing himself for the benefit of the fans. They bring up him dressing in drag as a Vegas Showgirl. He mentions that fans think he was being punished, but he loved doing comedy, and if he was going to come out in drag it had to be right. He calls that moment the best thing he has done in his WWE career and was most fun he ever had. Everyone takes him as the serious wrestler, but he loves doing things like that.

-Barrett wants to know the inspiration behind Sheamus’ new look. Sheamus talks about how Regal was always there for him to talk to and bounce ideas off. He tried something new with his reign as King as while it may have looked funny he thinks it made for one of the best action figures. Regal picks up on that and says that every year you have to change something even if just the color of your boots/tights so you can get a different action figure. He says that most people don’t think about it, and that he never thought anyone would buy his action figure until he realized the kids needed someone they hated to beat up with their favorite guy.

-Barrett switches topics to Regal’s role in the office now. Regal says he works in talent now which is something he has basically always done just without the title. Barrett says he and Sheamus can vouch for how much Regal helps. Regal is also NXT General Manager and helps HHH as needed down there.

-Sheamus talks about wrestling in Wales in Celtic Pro Wrestling and that is where he first met Barrett. From there they went to Irish Whip Wrestling, and Regal talks about how he and Dave Taylor were seen as big wrestlers size wise from the UK and then guys like Sheamus and Barrett started popping up.

-Barrett mentions that he ran in the group with Sheamus and Drew McIntyre. Sheamus apparently kept telling them that all 3 of them would end up in the WWE one day. Barrett wasn’t as sure because you didn’t get a bunch of guys from their area in the WWE at the same time.

-That leads to Sheamus talking about chasing your dreams and how when he goes to Be A Star programs to speak to kids he always tells them not to listen to people telling them they can’t achieve their dreams.

-We get Sheamus telling a story about Barrett and Wade says he will correct anything that is wrong. Apparently Wade was to do a run in with a weapon and he didn’t have anything so another wrestler, Brian Dixon, gave him a shovel to use. So Wade ran it with a spade and the boys couldn’t stop laughing at him running around the ring with the weapon. HHH with a sledgehammer it wasn’t.

-Regal talks about the gimmick he had when he had The Power of the Punch with the brass knuckles. He had a legit pair and a fake pair for when he was around fans. He was at an airport and the alarms went off because they found a pair of the rubber brass knuckles. Regal was embarrassed as he tried to explain everything and two of the security guys recognized him and started play wrestling with the knuckles which only embarrassed Regal even more.

-Sheamus tells a story of cutting a promo in England and insulting the crowd by calling them twats (I think as it was hard to tell with the censor button). Everyone was losing it over Sheamus using that word and he had no clue why because where he came from it meant a person was an idiot. Regal and Barrett get a laugh out of it, and mention that it has a different meaning in The States, and they should quickly move to another topic. Tremendous!

-Barrett talks about how he and Sheamus grew up as big fans and they want the inside scoop of Regal’s “Real Man’s Man” character. Yes! Regal says that he really can’t remember. He was leaving WCW as he went off the rails and they were done with him. He came to the WWE and quickly broke his leg so he had some down time. Vince wanted him to come back with a different gimmick. Regal says it lasted 5 weeks and he was deep in his troubled issues. He has had a 30 year career and he is always going to be remembered for that 5 week gimmick and he tells a great story how when he calls the WWE office and they put him on the hold they will play the “Man’s Man” theme music. That is fantastic. Regal says he continued to go off the rails and he was sent away to clean up his act.

-Sheamus brings up a WWE show they did in England and it had Regal against Bryan where they played a rib by having the “Real Man’s Man” theme song play for a few seconds while Regal was making his entrance. Everyone needs to find that clip on YouTube because it fantastic.

-Regal continues to teach these young ones here as he talks about how wrestling is about making moments and little pieces of movies. At the end of the day you will always look back on your high moments. Sheamus brings up how the best moments aren’t even wrestling as things you always see on highlights are Austin with the beer truck and Angle with the milk truck.

-Regal jumps on that and says you have two of the greatest ever in Austin and Angle and they had no problem doing all the stuff they did with Mr. McMahon.

-Wade mentions the waiter is waiting for them to wrap it up and Regal ends by saying Mick Foley will be paying the bill because he has the money.

-Fantastic stuff here as Regal is one of those guys I can listen to all day. Sheamus and Barrett looks like little kids on Christmas as they get to sit with Regal. They also added some good stories and we really didn’t have a weak link in this trio. Regal was clearly the star though and I am sure Barrett and Sheamus were more than okay with that.

-Next time we get into the run of episodes that premiered this year and first up is The Horsemen!
