411’s WWE Talking Smack Report: 05/30/17

-History was made on SmackDown tonight as the long rumored Women’s Money in the Bank match was made official. It will be interesting see what they will be able to pull off in such a big spot.

-Renee Young welcomes us to Talking Smack and she is joined again by Shane McMahon as Daniel stays at home with his wife and baby. I have my 2 week old sleeping next to me as I watch this, and just to have it on record the first wrestling he “watched” with me happened to be New Japan Wrestle Kingdom as it was shown in hour blocks on TV last week.

-Back to the show as Renee brings up that tonight was the first time we have heard from Orton since losing his WWE Title. Shane hypes the rematch at Money in the Bank and says it will be interesting to see what happens.

-The first guests are brought out and it is all 5 Women who will be competing in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Natalya, Charlotte, Carmella, Tamina, and Becky Lynch. Shane brings up how historic this match is and wants Ellsworth to leave so they can discuss the match. The ladies thank Shane for the chance as Renee talks about how intense the match will be. Becky says history is something the ladies have been making and this is just another step. Things quickly turn into a shouting match as Charlotte tries to talk over everyone else. Shane restores order and they let Charlotte have the floor. She says she isn’t afraid of a ladder match as she has been inside Hell in a Cell and Becky makes sure she knows that she was in a cage match that closed SmackDown.

-Shane wants to know if Nattie has a fear of heights and that insults her as she is the best there is, was, and ever will be. She also proclaims herself as the leader of the Welcoming Committee which raises eyebrows from the others in the group. Charlotte laughs off Carmella as being any kind of threat and we get more shouting. Again Shane gets order and wants to know what Tamina thinks. She feels they have deserved this spot and she is ready as she isn’t afraid of heights. This segment is weird as they go back and forth between hating each other while also putting each other over for reaching new heights and making history.

-Nattie is excited about winning the match and having the contract that will make her the SD Woman’s Champ. Charlotte brags about when she wins she will be the first Triple Crown winner. She flubbed that line and the heel ladies jumped all over her for it. Shane says he is proud of all of them and reiterates that they are in a ladder match which a lot of the guyss on the roster haven’t competed in yet. He wishes them good health and Renee thanks them all for coming.

-Renee and Shane discuss the dangers of the match. Renee says she hates watching ladder matches due to the danger and Shane says from experience he knows how tough they can. Renee wants to know why he booked the match then. Shane says it hit him when he was out there as he saw their tenacity and how they were competing and he felt they should have all the opportunities the guys get.

-Renee plugs Rocket League before continuing on as she mentions Naomi doesn’t have a number 1 contender for Money in The Bank. Should bring Asuka up as a mystery challenger and see who is brave enough to cash in on her.

-Next they discuss the Tag Title scene and the New Day/Uso rivalry. Renee wants a prediction from Shane, but he doesn’t give them.

-Renee brings out Dolph as the next guest. Shane congratulates Dolph on his win tonight over AJ Styles. Dolph loved beating AJ in front a lot of his family and friends. Shane says the match they had was phenomenal. Dolph says he knows he can be great, but at times he will get his head in the clouds and that has cost him in the past. Tonight he was focused and now he has his eyes on the prize. Dolph jokes that he forgot what it sounds like to have his music played after a win.

-They show Dolph cashing in on Del Rio the night after Mania XXIX. Dolph says he had chills down his back that night when his music hit due to the pop from the crowd and jokes again that in classic fashion he nearly lost that match before pulling it out in the end. Shane wants to know what toll this kind of match takes and Dolph admits that he is afraid of heights as his twitter followers know. He remembers every single ladder match he has been in because his body remembers every bump and fall. He says the ladder absolutely sucks and it is crazy with 5 other superstars out there. He puts over Nakamura and says that is the person he wants the most in the match. Dolph keeps playing up that when he is focused he can beat anyone and asks Renee who she thinks will win. He mentions that Dean is on the other brand so she can’t pick him. Nice! She doesn’t give him a pick but instead asks Dolph if he likes being the person with the target on his back. He loves it and loves that he put down the groundwork for guys like AJ Styles to be in the WWE.

-Dolph takes his leave as Shane and Renee gush over the confidence on display. That is the Ziggler they have been wanting to see and thinks he could be back on the roll he was the last time he won MITB. They touch on all the other guys in the match and how all their different styles will be on display.

-They hype the Main Event for next week as it will be Nakamura vs Owens in their first 1 on 1 match. Renee wants a prediction on that match and again, nothing from Shane.

-Renee wraps the show and we are done for another week.

-Fine show as they continue to build to MITB. The women yelling over each other got to be a little much at times, but they did a good job of selling the importance of the match. I just wish they would talk more about winning the match and the importance of that as much as they do about just having the match. Dolph was good with the shots he kept talking at himself, and will likely be playing the Jericho role of the experienced veteran who has been in this position many times.

-Until next week, thanks for reading and Go Pens!
