411’s WWE Talking Smack Report: 05/21/17

-My 3 day old son now lives in a world with Jinder Mahal as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Strange times indeed!

-Renee Young freaks out before even welcoming us to Talking Smack over Mahal winning the title. She is joined this week by Peter Rosenberg. He of Bring It to The Table and the guy who said anyone who booed Reigns does so because they are jealous because their woman wants to be with him.

-They spend time discussing Jinder winning the Title and how he has taken the ball and run with it.

-Our first guest is Sami Zayn, and he is even shocked by the title change. He says this is the land of opportunity and that things can change quickly in the WWE. Zayn talks about his time on SD being a little rough, but it changed tonight with his win over Corbin. He talks about his underdog persona and how people always questions if he thinks he can win and he wonders if other Superstars are asked that question. They talk about Sami seeming to be a great fit from the start on SmackDown and talk about the road he has taken to get here. Sami says that he still has a chip on his shoulder and he knows the fans are behind him. Now while they are behind him he doesn’t know if they expect him to win.

-They ask Sami where he goes from here, and he says he looks forward to Tuesday and to Money in the Bank. Jinder got his shot and won the WWE Title so why can’t he get his chance to climb and ladder to win the MITB briefcase. Renee and Rosenberg offers him congrats on the win tonight and Sami is out.

-Next up is Tye Dillinger, who got a win on the kickoff show over English. They talk about the reaction fro the Chicago crowd, and Tye says he was completely blown away. Rosenberg brings up hanging out with Mark Henry at Mania and how Henry told him that Dillinger was the guy he was watching in NXT. They go over Tye being cut by the WWE and he says that he missed his mark at that time, but he kept knocking on the door until someone answered. He could never picture doing anything else in his life so he knew he had to stay the course. Rosenberg brings up Jinder winning the WWE Title and I guess they are taking the Poochie route to make sure he is mentioned even when not on screen. Tye jokes that he is wearing a shirt due to Jinder’s physique and Renee says she is wearing a shirt for the same reason. Tye also brings up Money in the Bank next month which is tremendous to hear. I like everyone looking towards the next PPV and a chance like MITB.

-Peter and Renee discuss the Singh Brothers appearing in the match. Rosenberg says they will be in traction for a week after everything Orton did to them, but in the end they were the difference. They show the insane bump taken by one of the Singh Brothers on the announce table.

-Next up they talk about the SD in ring debut of Nakamura and how it was awesome.

-Kevin Owens interrupts which is always fantastic. He asks Rosenberg who he is, and that makes me so happy to hear. Owens says he is beat up and Renee jumps on that as she asks what was the worst part for him. He says it sucked nearly having his back broken with the suplex on the apron. He says there is no doubt who the better man is. Renee hints that winning by count-out isn’t fair and square, and Owens shoots that down. Owens continues to shoot down Rosenberg and I could watch that all day. He is just killing Rosenberg here and cuts him completely out of the interview. Renee brings up Jinder winning the WWE Title once again, and KO says that he wants more than just the US Title. As soon as he can he will take the title from Jinder. She asks KO if he is surprised that Jinder won, and Owens says that he predicted Jinder was going to win while on commentary last week on SD. He kills Renee for the question and says that Rosenberg is allowed to speak again. He makes the mistake of saying AJ is the best Superstar in the World and that causes KO to get up and leave. He does come back to hold the title in Rosenberg’s face before leaving again. Rosenberg stars to talk and KO comes back a third time and makes Rosenberg read a note “KO is the best in the WWE.” He leaves and then comes back for a 4th time to put himself over as the best ever in the WWE and also better at hosting this show that Roseberg and Renee. He closes the show by calling it the Kevin Owens Show and says he is the new face of America and the absolute best this company has ever seen.

-That was fantastic and Owens has easily filled the void left by The Miz on this show. Zayn and Dillinger were solid and I appreciated them building up the importance of winning MITB. For all the talk of Jinder I was kind of shocked we didn’t get him, but I guess better to save that for SmackDown.

-See you on Tuesday!
