Welcome to 411’s WWE Tribute to the Troops Report 12.17.14

* Opening video package filled with celebrities celebrating and thanking the US Military and their families.

* This is the WWE’s 12th annual Tribute to the Troops special.

* Real American hits and Hulk Hogan comes out to kick off the show. Hogan comes out waving the American flag with soldiers saluting him. As Hogan makes his way to the ring, Cole and JBL welcome us to the show. Hogan says that he remembers how grateful he is to live in the US when he sees all of these soldiers and praises them for all of their sacrifices. He offers a “thank you” from the WWE and himself. The Miz then makes his way out with Sandow. Miz says on behalf of the military and as the Star of The Marine: Homefront, you’re welcome. He was honored to star in that movie, a true highlight, and a privilege to portray a member of the military on the big screen. And he knows they are all honored by his performance. When you think tough, pillar of strength, you think the Miz. John Cena now makes his way out to the ring. Cena and Hogan hug, and Cena says he apologizes for the Miz because he has been drinking way too much. Cena says this is an Army base, and when Cena thinks of toughness, he thinks of the armed forces. When he thinks of Miz, he thinks metrosexual. Like a Ryan Seacrest. No, Seacreast would kick Miz’s ass. Miz fake laughs and says Cena is not funny, and says he is a modern day Bob Hope. He inspires the military, the commanding officers always say “DO IT FOR THE MIZ”. That’s how great he is. Cena says he is sure that has never been said to the military, ever. Cena says being here is the big deal, we’re in the ring with Hulk Hogan, the greatest superstar in WWE history. That is a big deal. Cena asks the crowd if the Miz is a big deal, and they do not seem to think so. Miz says Cena is embarrassing himself, because Hogan is out here with Miz. He then says Cena is jealous that Miz beat him at WM, that he’s better looking and that Miz plays a more convincing soldier than Cena ever could. Cena then says this is real life, Miz is not awesome, he sucks. Miz tries to attack and Cena stops that and tosses him to the floor. Sandow is left alone and mimics the whole attack and takes a bump to the floor.

* Seth Rollins is now out with Kane and the security. Luke Harper is now out as well as the Big Show. They surround Cena and Hogan and now have to fight off the heels, but here comes Ryback, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler. They all brawl and the faces clear the ring.

* Hmmm…

* We get a video package from Angelina Jolie, discussing her movie Unbroken, and the heroism of the military.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) vs. Stardust and Goldust : Goldust and Jey to begin. Lock up, to the corner and Jey battles back with a clothesline. Tag to Stardust, they lock up and then off the ropes and Stardust with counters, and they stand off and Stardust acts weird. Boot to the gut by Stardust, to the corner and a reversal, and then a slam by Jey. Tag to Jimmy, clothesline to Stardust and then a standing senton and cover for 2. Stardust takes Jimmy to the ropes and then Goldust gets in a cheap shot. Goldust tags in and lays into Jimmy with rights. Jimmy then escapes, does a dance and delivers rights to Goldust. He then tosses him and Stardust to the floor. Stereo Uso dive mostly connects, one came up short on Stardust, and we head to a commercial…

Back from commercial as Jey is in control, until Stardust low bridges him and sends him to the floor. Stardust lays the boots to him and rips off his shirt. Back into the ring and more kicks from Stardust. Stardust taunts Jimmy a bit, and then applies a chinlock to Jey. Jey escapes, but Stardust connects with a kick and covers for 2. Tag to Goldust, he continues the attack, hits a clothesline and covers for 2. Jey battles back with rights, knocks Stardust to the floor and then sends Goldust to the floor. He crawls for the tag now and gets it. Jimmy in and cleans house on Stardust. Uppercuts follow and then the Samoan drop. Corner elbow follows and then the Samoan clambake. Enziguri to Goldust follows that and then Jey flies to the floor onto Goldust. Disaster kick by Stardust, and the cover gets 2. Stardust charges, eats an elbow and Jimmy hits whisper in the wind for 2. Jey in and superkicks Stardust. Double superkick to Goldust. Double splashes finish it for the Usos.

Santa’s Little Helper’s Battle Royal: Naomi, Cameron, Emma, Natalya, Rosa Mendes, Alicia Fox, Summer Rae, Paige, Nikki Bella and Brie Bella are the Participants: General brawling to begin and then Emma gets tossed. Rosa dances, Summer take offense and does some dancing. They argue, the others attack and toss them both. Naomi steals Cameron’s mirror and then tosses her out. The Bellas work over Fox, and then hit a double dropkick and eliminate her. Paige tries to hide from them and then offers up mistletoe. The Bellas eliminate her. Naomi, Natalya and the Bellas are left. Naomi runs wild, but then Nikki hits the Alabama slam. Naomi almost tossed, and Brie ends up eliminating herself. Naomi then eliminates Nikki and Natalya to win the match.

* Sgt. Slaughter is in the ring to introduce the Boot Camp match.

No DQ Anything Goes Boot Camp Match: Dean Ambrose vs. Bray Wyatt : And here we go. Ambrose says he’s ready to go to war and they start throwing rights to begin. Ambrose hits Wyatt with a backpack and then hits the dropkick in the ropes. Big right by Wyatt follows and rakes Ambrose’s face along the ropes. Slam by Wyatt follows and then head butts and rights. Ambrose then connects with a running forearm and bulldog, Wyatt rolls to the floor. Ambrose follows with the suicide dive and then sends Wyatt into the post. Ambrose now slams Wyatt into an ammunition box, and then hits Wyatt in the gut with it. Under the ring and Ambrose starts to toss in chairs and wedges one in the corner. He grabs Wyatt, who then lays out Ambrose with a kendo stick shot. Wyatt follows up with more shots to the gut and poses. Off the ropes and a clothesline with the kendo stick follows, then mounted rights by Wyatt and a cover for 2. Ambrose fires back with rights, Wyatt cuts him off and slams him into the chair that was wedged in the corner as we head to commercial…

We’re back from commercial as Wyatt is still in control, working a cravat. Ambrose battles out with rights, but Wyatt back with head butts. He misses with the kendo but then hits the running cross body and covers for 2. Cross face shots and kicks by Wyatt, he heads to the second rope and leaps off with the kendo, but Ambrose hits him in the gut on the way down. Ambrose then gets the kendo stick, Wyatt begs off but Ambrose lays into him with repeated shots. White Russian leg sweep by Ambrose, and then he grabs a chair. To the second rope he goes and delivers the elbow drop with the chair, which gets 2. Ambrose to the floor and under the ring and gets a table to the delight of the crowd. He sets it up, but Wyatt pops up and hits the uranage on Ambrose through the table and Wyatt covers, but only gets 2. Wyatt now lays the boots to Ambrose, heads to the floor and gets another table. Wyatt slides it into the ring, and then Wyatt talks shit to Slaughter. Wyatt then heads back into the ring, sets up the table and goes after Ambrose. Slaughter takes off his boot on the floor and that distraction allows Ambrose to roll up Wyatt for 2. Ambrose then hits the jawbreaker lariat, and Slaughter slides him the “steel-toed boot”. Ambrose nails Wyatt and lays him on the table. Ambrose heads up top, elbow drop through the table follows. Ambrose covers and that is all.

* We get a replay of the show’s opening segment, which set up the tag team main event for tonight.

* Lana and Rusev are in the ring, with Rusev waving the Russian flag. Lana says they are thrilled to be here, because it is an honor for the soldiers to be here in the presence of Rusev, the US Champion. Rusev says he has crushed every American hero, every one of them. He has proven his dominance and the dominance of Mother Russia over and over again. Lana calls the soldiers pathetic, and is met with USA chants. Lana says the super athlete is here and all they can do is chant USA. Rusev demands that they sit down and shut up. Lana then says the super athlete is here, but the soldiers boo due to their own stupidity. If they will not kneel to Rusev, then they should kneel for Vladimir Putin. Lana is disappointed in the soldiers, if Putin was their leader they would be a real superpower. She asks who will stand up for the US, and here comes Daniel Bryan. Bryan is on the stage and says that Lana and Rusev do not understand that Americans do not back down. It doesn’t matter, because Americans fight for what they believe in. If you don’t like it here, go back to Russia. Lana jokes about Bryan’s passionate speech, and wants to see his stupid America comeback and calls him a little troll. Rusev then says that he doesn’t worry about you “little half man”. Rusev challenges Bryan to come to the ring so he can crush him. Bryan asks if he is serious, and says he knows Rusev is not smart. Bryan says that Americans will come from anywhere to defend their freedoms. And when you challenge him you challenge everyone in the arena. Two soldiers then start to jump the rail and stand on the apron. Then two repel in from the ceiling. Bryan says they can fight right now and he heads to the ring. Bryan then enters the ring and Rusev and Lana decide to leave. Bryan and the soldiers then do the YES chant with the crowd.

* We get a video message from the Today show.

* We get a video message from Larry the Cable Guy.

* Florida Georgia Line performs again.

* Ryback, Erick Rowan, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena talk strategy backstage. They actually have a piece of paper that says “GAMEPLAN”.

Ryback, Erick Rowan, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena vs. Big Show, Luke Harper, Kane and Seth Rollins: Ryback and Rollins to begin. Lock up, to the corner and Ryback misses a big right. Rollins trying to avoid the Big Guy, Rollins delivers rights and then lays the boots to Ryback in the corner. Ryback gets pissed and slams Rollins to the corner, beats on him and then tosses him across the ring and covers for 2. Tag to Rowan, slam to Rollins and then hits the running splash and covers for 2. Side headlock by Rowan, slams Rollins to his corner and tags in Ziggler. A neck breaker by Ziggler connects, the elbow drop follows and the cover gets 2. Rollins back with rights to Ziggler, tags in Harper and Ziggler escapes a suplex, Ryback tags in and gets the stalling suplex on Harper and cover for 2. To the corner and shoulder blocks by Ryback follow, tag back to Ziggler and he hits the dropkick on Harper. Harper is able to fight back, tags in Rollins and elbows by Rollins keep Ziggler down. Rollins looks to ground Ziggler, but Ziggler counters with a dropkick and then the corner splash. Neck breaker countered, but then Ziggler hits the DDT and covers for 2. Harper breaks it up and the match breaks down with the teams brawling everywhere. It settles down to Rollins and Ziggler again as we head to commercial…

Back from commercial as Show works over Ziggler with clubbing rights. Tag to Kane, he lays the boots to Ziggler and then hits a suplex and covers for 2. Kane works a chinlock to ground Ziggler, Ziggler fights to his feet and escapes. To the corner and a boot to Kane, but then runs into the side slam for 2. Rollins now tags back in and takes control and mocks Cena. Ziggler crawls for the tag, but Rollins cuts him off and delivers mounted rights. The heels laugh at Ziggler’s misfortune as Rollins continues his attack. Ziggler then hits the fameasser out of nowhere and both men are down. Tags to Cena and Harper. Cena runs wild, shoulder block, proto bomb, five-knuckle shuffle all connect. AA try is stopped but then Cena gets the STF. Kane in, Rowan takes him out but then Rollins hits the flying knee to Rowan. Ryback press slams Rollins to the floor, and Show is in to chokeslam Ryback. Ziggler in, counters the chokeslam and superkicks Show into Cena’s AA. Cena then AA’s Harper onto Show and then covers Harper for the win.
