– The Wrestling Observer reports that while there was no attendance announcement for Backlash last night, the event had few empty seats. The site reports that the show was not a sellout but that despite much of the upper deck being tarped off, attendance was around 9,800 to 10,000.
According to the site, the Allstate Arena was well on its way to selling out and had 9,500 tickets sold but that ticket sales completely stalled when matches began getting announced. By comparison, a September 2016 Raw house show had an attendance of 9,500 fans while a March 2016 episode of Raw drew 10,800 fans. Payback 2014 had an an announced attendance of 13,311 fans and Extreme Rules 2015 drew 14,197. Payback 2016 had an announced attendance of 13,250.
