– Bret Hart spoke with WrestleZone Radio about his experience at Payback and more. You can see highlights and hear the audio below:

On his experience backstage at the show: “I had a great time. I enjoyed it immensely. I got to spend some quality time with Nattie. It was clearly a busy, hectic week for her but we found the time. I’d say it was a very positive, successful weekend. I thought it was great. I can’t say enough about the ovation I got in Chicago. It was awesome. Great. A lot of memories walking around at the what I know as The Rosemont. A lot of memories. We were walking the way you walk out to the ring and the whole walk from the dressing room is the same walk it always was. Just doing that brought back so many memories. I could remember sitting on the ringside with Steve Austin prior to us wrestling. I remember when I was with Nattie talking about the match we were sitting in the same spot doing the same thing I used to do with Steve Austin. For me personally it was a lot of good memories. The Rosemont was always, and I can say this with pride, I always worked my hardest there. I always tried to give them 100% every time I ever wrestled in that building. Whether it was WrestleMania 2 in the big battle royal or even with Steve Austin at WrestleMania XIII. I’m curious if any of the fans remember an awesome cage match I had with Shawn Michaels. Whether it was the blood in the match or maybe because it was one of the best cage matches in WWE history that no one remembers or is talked about because it wasn’t on television. It was a house show. For me, going back to The Rosemont brought back so many memories. Seeing all the wrestlers, I got treated so well by so many of them. From Stephanie to Shane to… everybody. Just seeing everybody. I got to see Sasha Banks and I think she’s a big listener of the show, funny enough. You’d be surprised how many of the wrestlers had positive things to say about The Sharpshooter Show. I was surprised to know how many of them are listening and riveted to every word that we’re saying. Even some of the referees and stuff.”

On his interaction with Triple H before the show: “We met and we talked but it was nothing special. If anything it was just more about our health. We had some more laughs than anything about Ric Flair and stuff like that. Triple H was very cordial to me and treated me like a million bucks. He treated me great and I have no complaints about anything. He treated me really good and so did Stephanie for that matter. With Stephanie I felt that she was honestly or genuinely worried about me when I had the cancer. I think she was just really glad to see me. Maybe it was the same with Triple H. That can never be a bad thing. I sensed a lot of sincerity there on everyone’s part. From Vince down to Triple H to Shane. Shane was very gracious and had some really nice things to say about me that I had forgot about. I was a very protective guy of Shane years ago when he was just a young guy in the business. I looked out for him a lot and I think it was nice for him to tell me that. That he never forgot how much I looked out for him and protected him from a lot of the vices and evils that were lurking about in pro wrestling.”
