Couple Charged in Death of Toddler After Doing Wrestling Moves
– A St. Louis couple have been charged in the death of a toddler after performing wrestling moves on her and attempting to cover it up. FOX 2 Now reports that Cheyenne Cook, 19, and Richard Gamache Jr., 24, have been arrested in the death of two-year-old Addie Cook.
According to the report, Cook died days after Gamache did a number of moves including a Batista Bomb. Cook was taken by EMS to the hospital after experiencing seizures and police later learned of prior signs of abuse along with digital evidence that the couple tried to cover up the abuse. Sheriff Dave Marshak said in a statement, “This child was essentially tortured. Our prayers are with ‘AC’ and the investigators that were intimately involved with this investigation.”
Police say that Gamache abused the child over time and that the mother was complacent and did not intervene or seek medical help.
Gamache has been charged with abuse and neglect of a child, while Cook was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Cook’s grandparents have started a GoFundMe account to assist with funeral costs.
