FROM ROH: Marcela vs. La Amapola: This was taped over WrestleMania weekend. Marcela ended La Amapola’s four-year title reign in CMLL. They worked a basic back and forth beginning, Marcela then hit a single leg takedown, and then worked a cloverleaf and transitioned onto a version of the STF. She then tried to pick up the pace, they worked on the mat, exchanging pinning attempts, but La Amapola cut that off and worked a crab. Marcela fought back with a trip, arm drags followed and then a head scissors sent La Amapola to the floor. Back in and Marcela missed a dropkick, allowing La Amapola to hit one of her own; the tree slam followed for a near fall. To the corner, Marcella then hit a head scissors. After a struggle, Marcella hit a butterfly back breaker. La Amapola posted herself and rolled to the floor, allowing Marcela to hit a cannonball off of the apron. Back in the ring, La Amapola took control back and slammed Marcella to the floor by her hair. Marcella returned the favor and then connected with the missile dropkick for 2. La Amapola then hits the perfect plex for a near fall, but Marcella hits the bridging northern lights suplex for a near fall. La Amapola hits a big spear to cut off Marcella, but Marcella heads up top and hits the high cross for 2. Marcella hits the victory roll for two, but La Amapola quickly follows with a blue thunder bomb for a near fall. They battle up top; Marcella shoves La Amapola to the mat and hits her with the double knees. Marcella then hits the Michinoku driver for the win. Marcela defeated La Amapola @ 11:47 via pin [***] Your mileage may vary here, depending on how much you like lucha, but I felt that they had a good match; they worked hard, they kept the small crowd engaged, and made good use of their time as they built to a satisfying finish.

FROM IMPACT WRESTLING: Robbie E vs. Marshe Rockett: They worked a fun and fast paced opening stretch, with Rockett talking lots of trash. Rockett not only had a speed advantage, but was also overpowering Robbie early on. Robbie finally started to fight back with hip tosses and then played to the crowd. Robbie then ran wild hitting the clothesline and then elbow drop off the second rope. Robbie ended up missing a charge and posting himself when Rockett sidestepped him. Rockett then took control; hit a jumping sidekick and then a suplex for 2. Rockett then continued to talk trash, and worked a neck crank. Robbie slowly fire up, hit some clotheslines and then slammed him to the buckles. Robbie followed with the second rope clotheslines, and hit the boom drop and that was enough for the win. Robbie E defeated Marshe Rockett @ 5:50 via pin [**] Solid outing here, but nothing special; Robbie E continues to be a good performer, and has consistently been improving over the last few years. It’s a shame they can’t fins a role for him on TV, but it’s great that he got the chance to go and work with NOAH, because that will help his improvement even more. There’s something about Marshe Rockett that just doesn’t connect with me. He does his moves fine, but outside of being a bigger than usual X-Division guy (which is commentary’s only selling point for him), doesn’t offer anything particularly special in terms of his character or work; he’s just a guy.

FROM ROH: Mandy Leon & Jenny Rose vs. Sumie Sakai & Faye Jackson: Leon and Jackson to begin, but Leon plays keep away early and then Jackson powers her to the corner but then misses a charge. Rose tags in and they double-team Jackson as it breaks down. Rose slams Sakai into Jackson, but Sakai and Jackson fight back as Jackson hits the corner splash. Sakai up top and hits a high cross to the floor, wiping put her opponents. Jackson then hits a suicide dive, taking out Rose and Leon; that leads to a near fall. Sakai and Jackson work quick tags, but Rose and Leon work double teams and take control, working over Sakai. They keep the heat, Rose hits a corner clothesline and suplex for the near fall. Rose then works a bow and arrow, but Sakai escapes into a cover for 2. The dropkick follows, and Sakai works the Tenzan chops but runs into the side slam for 2. Sakai then counters with a roll up and hits the roll of the dice and gets the tag to Jackson, she runs wild with clotheslines but Leon locks in a sleeper, it breaks down but Jackson and Sakai hit backpack stunners. Jackson hits the running ass attacks to the corner, and then Sakai does the same. They celebrate, and Jackson hits the cannonball onto Leon, but Rose makes the save. Sakai up top, but Leon moves and Sakai missile dropkicks Jackson. Rose then wipes then out with clotheslines off the top and they fight to the floor as Leon hits a cannonball off of the apron. Back in and Rose hits a spear onto Jackson, Leon then gets a roll up for 2. Leon then hits the unprettier on Jackson for the win. Mandy Leon & Jenny Rose defeated Sumie Sakai & Faye Jackson @ 7:40 via pin [**½] Faye Jackson is an ROH dojo student, and the least experience of the bunch, but showed a lot of improvement here from the last time I saw her. They worked a fun tag here, everyone got some time to shine and it was a strong overall outing for the ladies.

FROM IMPACT WRESTLING: Alisha Edwards vs. Laurel Van Ness: Van Ness talks trash and shoves Alisha to begin. They lock up; Van Ness talks more trash and Alisha fires up with rights. Van Ness then lays in knee strikes and slaps her again. Van Ness celebrates, which allows Alisha to attack. The drop toehold follows, and the clothesline gets 2. Chops by Alisha follows, but Van Ness hits the big boot to take her down. Van Ness then tosses her across the ring. Alisha tries to fight back, but Van Ness stops that and then slams her to the buckles. The slam follows, and then Van Ness heads up top and misses the double stomp by a mile. Alisha hits elbows and a boot, forearm strikes follow and then a corner elbow. Van Ness then counters with the slam and curb stomp for the win. Laurel Van Ness defeated Alisha Edwards @ 5:10 via pin [*½] They tried to work an even, back and forth match, but it largely came off as a disjointed effort and never got locked in.

FROM IMPACT WRESTLING: Marshe Rockett vs. Samuel Shaw: Shaw is wearing a goat like mask with clown makeup on it. Shaw is a bit bigger than his last TNA appearance. Shaw took Rockett down, but Rockett quickly fought back and then took time to celebrate. Back in and Shaw hits a clothesline, and then delivered clubbing strikes to Rockett. Rockett then came back with a sweet dropkick, but Shaw answered with one of his own. Shaw then got stunned off the ropes and Rockett then hit a clothesline and knee drop. He grounded Shaw, and then followed with chops and a powerslam for 2. Rockett slowed things down, allowing Shaw to try and fight back, but was quickly cut off. Rockett back to the chinlock, but Shaw gets to his feet and hits a jawbreaker and clotheslines. Shaw hit a belly to back suplex and leg drop. The bulldog followed, Shaw up top but Rockett cut him off and then hit the uranage for the win. Marshe Rockett defeated Samuel Shaw @ 6:40 via pin [*½] This was a poorly laid out match, devoid of any dram and also never allowed Rockett to shine in any way. Commentary can talk him up all they want, but when he’s wrestling a glorified house show match, it’s hard to care. Shaw looked like the same performer he was when he left, brining nothing new to the table. Hopefully this was just a one off, because he brings nothing of note to the table and there are better guys to bring in to fill a regular spot.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

Nothing must see in this batch, but the ROH luchadoras match was fun and the best of the batch.
