Similar to the G1 and the Super Juniors tournament, this is streamlined coverage of just the tournament matches. A lot of the tournament will now be recorded and released on VOD as we go forward.

Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian vs. Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga : This was a good start to the night, with the Addiction really showing off their good team work here, which gave the match a nice flow overall. Fale was perfectly serviceable in his monster role and did nothing to drag the action down, and it was nice to see Tonga work with some fresh talent to show what he has to offer. As I have mentioned before, Tonga has really grown as a performer, and worked very well with the Daniels and Kazarian; working with experienced guys like them will only help Tonga as he grows as a performer. The Addiction worked well here as the faces, and looked to have it all under control until Fale got to run wild. Miscommunication between Bullet Club (well Daniels and Kazarian avoiding him, causing him to hit Tonga) allowed the Addiction to dump Fale to the floor. Celebrity rehab followed and the Addiction picked up the big win.

Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows defeated Matt Taven & Michael Bennett: This was another good match overall. I could have done without them revisiting the Maria stuff, and basically doing the same stuff that they did before with the dancing to distract Anderson and Anderson doing his creeping dance in return. Once you get out of that and into the meat of the match, they all worked well together, which was good because they have had some stinkers before. Maria’s distractions only worked for so long, as Bullet Club dumped Bennett, and then Taven ate the magic killer and that was that. I preferred the opening match a little more, as it didn’t have as much bullshit, but this worked for what it needed to be.

Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI defeated Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi: The final match was a perfectly acceptable match, but a level below the previous two. I really enjoyed the times where Nagata and Okada got to work together, but the issue here was that the man planet Nakanishi worked a lot here, way too much, and when he is in there time stands still as the others orbit him like moons. The other three surely tried, but Nakanishi was Nakanishi and I had a really hard time getting into this outside of the stuff with Nagata and Okada. Okada would finally put Nakanishi (and everyone else) out of his misery with the rainmaker. It wasn’t bad, but easily the weakest of the three matches.

* Kazuchika Okada and Yoshi-Hashi (2-1)

* Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian (1-1)

Another average night of action overall there was nothing bad here, but also nothing you need to see unless you really want to follow along with all of the matches.
