Similar to the G1 and the Super Juniors tournament, this is streamlined coverage of just the tournament matches.

Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi defeated Togi Makabe & Tomoaki Honma: You know exactly what your getting from this match; Makabe played his role well as the big slugger, Honma and Nagata work great together an Nakanishi is so immobile that he stands there like a planet as the other wrestlers orbit around him like moons. The match had some really good stretches, Honma used a lot of Kokeshi variations as always, but in the end he ate the backdrop driver and that was that Makabe and Honma go to an early 0-2, and the children of Japan weep as HonMania failed to run wild yet again.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima defeated AJ Styles & Yujiro Takahashi: This next match as another good match overall, with the regular tag team facing off against one of the many Bullet Club variations. Styles was on tonight, working really well with both members of TenCozy (he also always sells for them so much seemingly out of respect, and adds a bit to their offense). Styles ran wild at one point, and when he looked for a clash, ended up eating a TenCozy. This led to Styles being taken out of action, and Kojima killing Takahashi with a lariat for the victory. Like the opener, it had some fun spots and they overall worked well together. No real complaints.

Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI defeated Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga: Following a loss on night one, Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI were back in action once again and got to pick up their first win of the tournament. Okada worked a lot here, as they revisited the Fale vs. Okada feud with some good callbacks during the match. The match felt like a mini-documentary of the feud, with Fale initially overpowering, but then Okada overcoming and pretty much eliminating him from the match. Tama Tonga, who is a guy that is really improving and needs to be given more run outside of Bullet Club job boy, was there to work a good homestretch with Okada. The god news is that Tonga basically ate all of Okada’s set up offense before doing his always excellent sell of the rainmaker to close out a good match.

The final score: review Good

Only three matches today, and while all of them were good, there was nothing you really need to see. If you’re following along and have the time, there are worse ways to kill 30-minutes.
