Top Prospect Tournament Match: Brian Fury defeated Shaheem Ali @ 6:00 via pin [**]
– Cedric Alexander defeated Cheeseburger @ 1:40 via pin [NR]
– Jonathan Gresham defeated Cedric Alexander @ 1:42 via DQ [NR]
– Jay Briscoe defeated Michael Elgin and Moose @ 9:43 via pin [***]

Top Prospect Tournament Match: Brian Fury vs. Shaheem Ali: They put over Fury as a 17-year veteran, who trained Sasha Banks and Donavan Dijak. Are you a prospect when you’re a seasoned veteran? They worked a rock solid beginning, with Ali getting the better of things. Fury turned the tide when he went for a cradle, but used it to slam Ali into the buckles. They worked a basic, but solid match here. I appreciate that, because often times guys will get this shot, go 1000 miles an hour and do a bunch of stuff that either looks bad or that they simply cannot do. Ali made a good comeback, getting the crowd into it a bit, and hitting a gut wrench sitout powerbomb for a near fall. Ali was sent to the floor, Fury tried a plancha but was caught and slammed to the floor. Back in the ring, Ali went up top and Fury grabbed the ref’s leg. Ali went to break that up, but got hit in the throat and Fury hit a pop up powerbomb to pick up the win. This was presented as a veteran outsmarting the upstart, and was an overall fine match to kick off the show.

– Veda Scott cut a promo, noting that Alexander was a victim of ROH’s disregard for his safety. They went on a long and emotional journey to justice, and now they can buy and sell everyone here a thousand times over. They even gave Jonathan Gresham the thrill of his life when he scored a fluke victory over Alexander. Scott said that Alexander deserved the biggest stars; out came Cheeseburger.

Cedric Alexander w/Veda Scott vs. Cheeseburger: Cedric refused to shake hands, and Cheeseburger got a near fall off a roll up. He tried to fire up, but Cedric overpowered him. Cheeseburger again got a roll up for 2, but got cut off. Cheeseburger got a RANA with the roll through, and again got a near fall. Cedric then slapped the piss out of him, but Cheeseburger would not die and hit a springboard knee strike. Cheeseburger went for the palm strike, but Cedric hit the lumbar check and that was that. That was perfectly fun and what it needed to be.

– Cedric beat down Cheeseburger, and Gresham ran out for the save. Veda then offered him a rematch with Cedric, and here we go.

Cedric Alexander w/Veda Scott vs. Jonathan Gresham: Gresham previously beat Cedric, which Veda has decided was a fluke. Gresham is a really underrated guy, and I hope that this is the start of ROH using him more often. They worked a very fast exchange to begin, both looking for control, but constantly countering each other. Gresham was quicker and was able to sue that speed, and his grappling ability to constantly counter and frustrate Cedric. Cedric was getting grapplefucked, and Veda attacked for the DQ. Cedric beat down Gresham, and hit the lumbar check as referees tried to pull him off of Gresham. It was a fine way to continue the program. Gresham was getting the better of things, Veda got pissed and saved her man so to speak and then Cedric got some heat back. We’ll see how this goes in the upcoming weeks.

Nigel McGuinness Talks The 14th Anniversary PPV: Nigel McGuinness is here to discuss the main event for the ROH 14th Anniversary PPV. ROH Champion Jay Lethal made his way to the ring, and Nigel put him over for beating AJ Styles at Final Battle and then beating Michael Elgin at Wrestle Kingdom 10. Nigel said that Lethal was the best in the world. Nigel brought up O’Reilly and Cole as possible contenders, and Adam Cole (BAY BAY) made his way to the ring. Cole said he defeated O’Reilly to keep him out of the title picture, and that while Lethal’s title run has been impressive, he had never defeated him during that run. After some back and forth, Nigel made Lethal vs. Cole vs. O’Reilly for the 14th anniversary PPV. O’Reilly made a cameo appearance, because he said he couldn’t wait until the PPV so Nigel also booked Lethal and Cole vs. O’Reilly and Bobby Fish for next week.

– We got a video from Final Battle, where the Boys went back with Dalton Castle. Young then cut a promo about how Castle manipulated The Boys to return to his lifestyle, and that he would give them one last chance to be men and come back with him. If they don’t they will be sorry.

– This was supposed to be Jay Briscoe vs. Michael Elgin, but Moose arrived and Stokley Hathaway stated that Nigel made the main event a triple threat.

Jay Briscoe vs. Michael Elgin vs. Moose: They went right at it at the bell, with Briscoe and Moose going to the floor and Elgin hitting a dive onto them. Back in the ring, Elgin did the stalling suplex spot where Moose kept trying to stop him, and he kept deadlifing Briscoe back up. Moose and Elgin worked, Elgin went up to and Moose dropkicked him to the floor. Moose worked the jabs on Briscoe, but then ran into a big boot. Briscoe took control, finally getting Moose to the ground and covering for a near fall as we headed to a commercial break. Back from the break and Elgin and Briscoe were up top, Moose broke that up and climbed up with Briscoe. Elgin then returned for the old tower of doom spot. Elgin took control from there, working over Moose, and Elgin just Herc’d him up for a powerbomb, which got 2 as Briscoe made the save. Briscoe and Elgin went back and forth, with Briscoe getting a DVD and cover for 2. Moose came back with a spear to Briscoe, and Briscoe rolled to the floor. Elgin and Moose had a clobbering battle, with Moose getting the better of it and getting a near fall off of a clothesline. Briscoe back in, and all three men were delivering big strikes, and then Briscoe got a backslide on Elgin to pick up the win. That was a good and fun main event.

– Post match, an upset Elgin challenges the Briscoes to a tag match at the PPV, his partner will be Hiroshi Tanahashi. We’ll see how that works out with Tanahashi’s injury. Elgin and Tanahashi were great during the world tag league, so if Tanahashi can go, it should be a quality edition to the PPV.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.
