The Tempura Boyz (Sho & Yo) vs. Cheeseburger & Will Ferrara vs. Coast To Coast (LSG & Shaheem Ali): Sho & Yo are young boys from NJOW, who were working CMLL. They are very good. This is a battle of the pre-show teams. They worked a wild and fast-paced opening, Cheeseburger and Sho hit dives and then LSG wiped out the pile with a high cross off the top. The Young Bucks came out to watch as we took a break. Post break, the Bucks were out on commentary, and they have an open challenge coming up. Sho & Yo ran wild for a bit as the Bucks said they would give the winners a tag title shot. It broke down, LSG and Ali hit stereo coast-to-coast dropkicks for a near fall. Sho & Yo hit a superkick into a German and then a package piledriver to finish Ali. The Tempura Boyz (Sho & Yo) defeated Cheeseburger & Will Ferrara and Coast To Coast (LSG & Shaheem Ali)@ 7:12 via pin [***] This was a good and action packed opener, there was no bullshit, just a bunch of guys working their asses off to impress in the small amount of TV time they got; it also set up a match for next week.

– The Bucks announced that they will defend against The Tempura Boyz next week. They then hit superkicks to The Tempura Boyz and stood tall. They then introduced ROH Champion Adam Cole (BAY BAY!) Cole made his way to the ring for story time with Adam Cole (BAY BAY!). Cole says he is a god, and living legend as well as a three-time ROH Champion. He ran down Castle and Fish, and noted that he got rid of O’Reilly. He said he’s in his prime and will defeat the Decade of excellence winner, Bullet Club will run the show and he will run ROH. He and the Bucks too sweet and leave.

– Alex Shelley is on commentary.

ROH TV Title Match: Champion ‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll vs. Juice Robinson: they locked up and worked to the corner, we got a clean break as Scurll did his chicken dance. Scurll worked the arm early, they went back and forth on the mat, Shelley was great again on commentary, putting over both guys big. They slapped each other, Scurll then attacked the arm and hit a PK to the shoulder and we took a break. Post break, and Juice hits the head butt from the top for a near fall. they traded pinning combos, Scurll then hit a pair of superkicks, but ran into a gut buster by Juice, and then a lariat for the near fall. they went back and forth, trading chops but Scurll hit the kick to the knee, but then ran into a leg lariat. BRAIN BUSTER by Scurll, sets for the chicken wing, Juice fought him off with strikes, hit the powerbomb and the cover got 2. Juice up top, crotched and Scurll hits a superplex, buy Juice rolls him up for 2. They brawled to the floor, and Juice missed the cannonball to the barricade. Back in, piledriver by Scurll but Juice kicks out. Scurll does the finger break spot, they then trade roll ups and Juice looks for pulp friction, but Scurll counters into the chicken wing. Champion ‘The Villain’ Marty Scurll defeated Juice Robinson @ 10:35 via submission [***½] This was a very good, back and forth match. Scurll picks up the hard-fought victory to keep his reign going, but Juice got in a lot and won over the crowd in his ROH debut. This was highly enjoyable.

– Post match, Scurll boasts about his victory. Chris Sabin, Donovan Dijak, Lio Rush, Jay White and Jonathan Gresham all arrive, taking issue with the Champion saying that he has no competition. Alex Shelley joins the group after the commercial break; all 6 men will face each other in a scramble match next week, and the winner gets a title shot at Scurll.

– Kazarian is out on commentary.

Decade of Excellence Semifinal Match: Jay Lethal vs. Jay Briscoe: They worked a slow and basic back and forth as Adam Cole arrived and joined commentary as we took a break. Post break, Briscoe hit a Jay driller out of nowhere and then sent lethal to the floor and worked him over with uppercuts. Then hit a suicide dive, firing up the crowd. Back in the ring and Briscoe cut off Lethal right away, took the heat and kept working him over, hitting dropkicks and a belly to back suplex. Briscoe is working a strong heat here, but doing it without taking any shortcuts, he’s just one step ahead of Lethal. They worked through another break, post break lethal hit a lethal combination for a near fall. lethal then countered a neck breaker and then hit an enziguri. They worked up top, Briscoe looked for a superplex but lethal fought him off and sent him to the mat. He then locked in the figure four as Cole complained that he invented the move. Briscoe fought and finally made the ropes. They worked some great back and forth counter, Briscoe avoids the lethal injection and then decapitates Lethal with a lariat for the win. Jay Briscoe defeated Jay Lethal @ 12:30 via pin to advance to the finals [***½] This was another very good match, which felt very different than their past matches in a good way. I loved how they mixed it up and went with a different finish, selling that Lethal was never quite the same after eating the early Jay driller.

– Briscoe will face Christopher Daniels in the finals, the winner faces Adam Cole at the 15th anniversary PPV.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

The final score: review Very Good
The 411
Back to back strong weeks of ROH TV, which is very refreshing. We got two, very good matches, they set two matches for next week and also set the finals of the Decade of Excellence tournament. So many times the ROH TV show feels as if it’s in a holding pattern, filling TV time because they had two. The last two weeks have been a refreshing change. This was a very good week of ROH TV.
