– We got video of Christopher using the bell hammer weeks ago, which led to his suspension.

Kazarian w/Sabin vs. Alex Shelley: Sabin sat in for commentary on this match. Kaz and Shelley talked and then distracted Shelley, leading to Kaz attacking in an underhanded fashion. Sabin on commentary kept refusing to discuss his history with Shelley, as Shelley had control of the match and was working over Kaz. Kaz used some heel shenanigans (eye poke, hair pull, ref as a shield) to take control and they worked thorough a commercial break. Kaz controlled post break, and during the match they did a spot where Steve Corino called into the show. He was upset over what happened last week with his son and said that next week he will be at the show. Considering that it had nothing to do with this angle, it felt cluttered as they shoehorned it in during the match. They really could have done it afterwards. Kaz eventually missed a leg drop off the top, allowing Shelley to make a comeback and hit a running knee off of the apron. Back in, Kaz rolled through a high cross with the tights for a near fall. They had some nice back and forth down the stretch, but this locked in to second gear and at the end of the day was a rock solid TV match between two veterans. Kaz grabbed the bell hammer, Nigel saw it and mentioned it, and did nothing. Come on now. Sabin then tried to get involved, and Nigel again did nothing. Shelley then hit the sliced bread for the win. Nigel came off like an idiot there.

– Pre-match Martini mocked Castle and said that the Boys needed a daddy, as in Joey Daddiego. Ok then.

Dalton Castle w/The Boys vs. Joey Daddiego w/Truth Martini: Castle controlled early until Martini distracted the ref. Daddiego knocked Castle off the ropes, allowing Martini to do a spinaroonie. The Boys pulled down the ropes and Martini fell to the floor. Comedy. Daddiego controlled for a bit, it was really boring Castle made the comeback and hit the bang-a-rang for the win. It was there to give Castle a win and to set up the post match. Post match Young arrives, and calls the Boys by their names, Brent and Brendan. The Beer city Bruiser arrives to grab the Boys, allowing Young to attack Castle and hit Misery. Young claimed that he worked for months and gave the Boys opportunities, but they now have a choice, be a man or be a boy. The Boys attacked, but then got tossed to the floor. Castle got to his feet and attacked, but Young and the Bruiser beat him down.

Top Prospect Tournament Match: Leon St. Giovanni vs. Action Ortiz: Giovanni went for a dive early after some brief back and forth, but got cut off. The crowd doesn’t care about these guys, much like the other prospect matches, because ROH did no prep work to introduce them. Ortiz missed a frog splash, and 90-seconds in they were on their knees and working like they were 25-minutes into a marathon. Giovanni then hit a rolling thunder for a near fall. Ortiz to the floor, Giovanni then connected with the dive and the crowd finally reacted. Giovanni hit a rolling elbow, but Ortiz then fought back and hit Kill Screen (a release back suplex) to pick up the win. Not good, the crowd did not care because this was just two guys doing stuff with no real structure or flow. It didn’t help that they had no time, but there was nothing to see here at all as neither impressed.

– Stokely Hathaway did a promo segment, saying that Moose was challenging Okada for the anniversary show. This came off so poorly, Moose wasn’t even there, and has no real claim to challenge someone of Okada’s status. This came off poorly.

– We get highlights of the ANX earning a tag title shot at Final Battle.

ROH Tag Team Title Match: Champions War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) vs. The All Night Xpress (King and Titus): The opening four-minutes was back and forth between the two teams, each got a short time to shine, but never for too long. War machine finally had an advantage, and we went to a break. Post break, War Machine controlled but the ANX fought back and we battled to the floor. They teased the double countout, Hanson and Titus back in and then Titus was sent to the floor and Hanson basically missed the suicide dive. They slowly fought on the floor for a bit more, they headed back in and King fought back and sent Hanson to the floor and then we got a ref bump as King pulled the ref into the path of Rowe. Nigel again sat there and did both jack and shit. The ANX brought in a table as Nigel sat with his thumb up his ass, owe fought back and slammed King through the table for the DQ. The crowd liked the table spot and the post match brawl; it felt as if this was solely done to get heat on this feud, which had nothing behind it to this point. They needed to do something to get the feud officially rolling, and it was ok, but nothing they did here made me excited for another match between the two.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

The final score: review Poor

This was a lifeless show this week from ROH. They did stuff to set up matches for the PPV and advance things, but none of it clicked. The Top Prospect Tournament continues to feature lame duck matches with no real heat or interest from anyone, which is a shame. There was nothing of real value here this week, it was not a good show.
