Csonka’s WWE Main Event Review 10.14.16

OFFICIAL RESULTS
– The Hype Bros defeated The Vaudevillains @ 3:50 via pin [**½]
– Jack Swagger defeated Tyler Breeze @ 8:20 via submission [**¾]

– Tom Stupid Idiot Phillips and Corey Graves are on commentary.

Zack Ryder and Mojo Rawley defeated Aiden English and Simon Gotch: For the first time in forever, The Vaudevillains got an entrance. Also, I approve of Mojo’s move to Zubaz. Ryder and English started things off, Gotch immediately distracted Ryder and English attacked. He basically failed as Ryder fought back, countered a suplex, hit a neck breaker and got the cover for 2. English then rushed him to the corner; he and Gotch double teamed him and then took the heat. English worked most of the heat, which was very solid but unspectacular. Ryder fought back, got the tag and Mojo ran wild. Mojo is chaotic but he has a hell of a hot tag. Gotch saved English, who stunned Mojo off the ropes. Mojo fought off Gotch, Ryder sent him to the floor and Mojo killed English with a pounce. Tag to Ryder and they hit the HyperRyder for the win. The Hype Bros defeated The Vaudevillains @ 3:50 via pin [**½] This was a perfectly solid opening match, with everyone playing their roles well. The Hype Bros are a good opening match act.

– We head to Raw, and get to see Mick Foley’s Hell in a Cell address, where he confirmed the three Hell in a Cell matches for the Hell in a Cell PPV. You can read my WWE Raw Review right here!

– We then go back to Raw and get highlights of the Reigns and Banks vs. Rusev and Charlotte tag team match. You can read my thoughts from Monday right here!

Jack Swagger vs. Tyler Breeze: Breeze used his speed to avoid Swagger early, grabbing the ropes and posing at times. Swagger kept going for takedowns, and then grabbed an ankle lock but Breeze got the ropes and took a powder. When Breeze came back in, Swagger took control and looked to have thing sin hand until Breeze dumped him over the top and hit the steps on the way down. After the break, Breeze had the heat and hit some corner forearms and repeatedly told Swagger that he was not better than he was. Swagger hit some corner clotheslines, got send to the floor and then caught Breeze off the apron and slammed him to the floor. Back in the ring, Swagger hit the Swagger bomb for a near fall. Breeze fought off the ankle lock and then stunned Swagger off the top rope. An enziguri followed, and then the tornado DDT connected and Breeze covered for 2. Breeze headed up top, wager rolled away so Breeze came back down and got a sunset flip for 2, but Swagger then rolled into the ankle lock and Breeze tapped. Jack Swagger defeated Tyler Breeze @ 8:20 via submission [**¾] This was an overall fun back and forth match, Breeze was more than competitive but Swagger never looked weak.

– We head back to Raw one more time, and revisit the main event between Seth Rollins and Chris Jericho. It was a really good main event. Jericho felt locked in, they teased the possibility of him winning strongly and Rollins managed to overcome the inured ribs and interference to keep his title match a one on one affair at Hell in a Cell. – End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

This was a rock solid show this week, with two fun little matches and the regular recap stuff. It was an easy watch.
