UPDATED: Details on Samoa Joe’s NXT Deal & Debut
UPDATE: The deal to bring Joe into NXT was headed up by Triple H. Joe will continue to work existing and future independent dates, but NXT will have top priority so in theory he could be pulled from an event if Triple H calls. Joe has also come to terms with the company to market Samoa Joe merchandise. They are already selling an official Samoa Joe shirt on WWE.com. The feeling is that if things work out for both parties that the deal could evolve into a full-fledged WWE deal.
ORIGINAL: As you likely know by now, Samoa Joe made his debut at the end of NXT Takeover: Unstoppable, staring down Kevin Owens after Owens retained his NXT Title. PWInsider reports that Joe was brought in backstage “just a minute or two” before he came out.
The word is that Joe will work dates with NXT and still be able to work independently, similar to the deals Rhyno and Brian Kendrick have. There were several people in TNA who were reportedly concerned that Joe would debut tonight.
