ORIGINAL: During the opening match of the main WWE Payback show, Enzo Amore was injured. Amore and Big Cass were facing the Vaudevillains for the #1 contendership to the WWE Tag Team Titles when Simon Gotch launched Amore under the ropes. Amore’s head hit the bottom rope hard and he went down at ringside, causing the match to be stopped as a no-contest.
WWE medical personnel came out to attend to Amore, who was put in a neck brace and wheeled out on a stretcher. During the Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens match that followed, the announcers gave an update and said Amore was being taken to a local medical facility but was moving his extremities and speaking.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Amore and his family and friends and our hope that the injury isn’t serious.
