ESPN Host Apologizes For Joke About Video of Kevin Owens’ Son
– Amin Elhassan is apologizing for raising the ire of the internet by responding to the video of Kevin Owens’ son reacting to his dad’s Universal Title win. The ESPN radio host, who replied to a Tweet about the video by saying “Until someone told him it was scripted” and then proceeded to reply to those who got angry over it with trolling comments, posted a new message to his Twitter feed today offering his mea culpa:
I tweeted a joke about wrestling earlier this week and it was in poor taste. I sincerely apologize to kevin owens and his family.

The situation gained more attention yesterday after Cody Rhodes called for WWE to cut ties with ESPN for “insult[ing] a child.” ESPN and WWE have been working together since October of 2015, with the sports network providing coverage of WWE’s biggest PPV events and Jonathan Coachman hosting a regular WWE segment on SportsCenter that sees WWE provide them with talent for interviews.
Neither ESPN or WWE have publicly commented on the matter.
