Greg DeMarco’s Bold Predictions for WWE Night of Champions 2015

September 20, 2015 | Posted by Greg De Marco

411Mania’s Greg DeMarco gets you ready for Sunday’s WWE Night Of Champions in style with his B.O.L.D. Predictions!

On Sunday, September 20th, the WWE presents their annual Night Of Champions pay-per-view, the 9th of its kind! This event used to be called Vengeance, dating back to 2001, and was the company’s June show. In 2007, it was called Vengeance: Night Of Champions, and has been called Night Of Champions even since.

Interestingly enough, “The Night Of Champions” was also the subtitle for the final episode of Nitro, which featured five title defenses and a Sting vs. Ric Flair encounter that saw WCW come to an end.

The 2015 edition features Seth Rollins defending the top two singles championships in the company—the United States Championship and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship—much like Ring Of Honor Undisputed (Television & World) Champion Jay Lethal did on Friday night…also on pay-per-view.

But the WWE is totally not copying ROH, I swear!

Ummm…okay…

Anyway, now let’s talk about the WWE show!

So precisely what is going to happen at Night Of Champions? Hell if I know! For answers to that question you should check out our 411Mania Roundtable Preview!

Because contained below are bold predictions for the event. Not likely to happen, these are indeed B.O.L.D.: Bullheaded, Outlandish, Lascivious, and Deplorable. But if—I mean when!—one hits, I can promise you’ll never hear the end of it!

B.O.L.D. – And STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…

Last month I boldly predicted that Seth Rollins would lose the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to John Cena at SummerSlam, giving Cena his record tying sixteenth world championship, en route to him breaking Ric Flair’s “official” record. (C’mon, we all know Flair is a 22-time champ!)

Well that didn’t happen. So I turned around and boldly predicted that Seth Rollins will actually go on to hold the WWE World Heavyweight Championship until at least Monday June 6, 2016, when he’ll surpass CM Punk’s “modern day record” WWE Championship run.

See, I flip-flop–BOLDLY!

I still think that’s happening.

But you might as take Night Of Champions and rename it “Night Of Seth Freaking Rollins” because Zahra Schreiber is gonna ride that **** into oblivion at the Houston Marriot* on Sunday night.

*I can neither confirm nor deny that WWE talent is staying at the Houston Marriott on Sunday night. I mean, they might be, but I have no clue.

The reason it’s the Night Of Seth Freaking Rollins is because we’re going to hear “And STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…” not one…not two…but THREE times on Sunday night.

I mean that’s like three predictions right?

Wrong – Individually they’re not bold. Together? BOLD.

John Cena? Sorry pal, but while the champ IS here at the end of the night, his name is Seth Rollins.

Sting? Sorry old man, go vigilante with someone else.

Sheamus? It’s a shameful thing, lobster head, but you’re cashing in and losing, fella.

Seth Rollins is now a grown ass man and the first active, defending double singles champion in WWE history, and he’s winning both matches…clean. He’ll be spend, and Sheamus is going to cash in, and lose…clean.

But Rollins is a heel, right? That means he should cheat to win, right? Like Jay Lethal did on Friday, right?

Yes, except this will be the beginnings of a face-turn for the champ.or maybe more of a tweener-turn, because I don’t think he needs to go full-on face just yet. I think The Authority likes having a champion they can manipulate, and as Rollins gains confidence—the real kind—they’ll grow worried. And the seeds of dissension will be planted.

B.O.L.D. – And STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL…

Nikki Bella broke AJ Lee’s historic Divas Championship reign, and in the process put more heat on the Divas Division than ever before. To the point that I say the “Revolution” is working. And you think I’m stupid. The comments prove it!

When Nikki used a little Twin Magic to retain her championship against Charlotte on Monday’s Raw, the internet let out a collective groan, followed by “well at least she can lose to Charlotte on Sunday.”

WRONG!

Look, Nikki’s hot, and I don’t mean her body. Okay, I do mean her body, but I also mean hot as a champion. Nuclear, even. The time is not right for Charlotte to unseat the champion.

Now, I’m on record as saying Charlotte isn’t the personification of greatness that everyone thinks she is. But the storyline does dictate she be the one to capture the championship from Nikki.

Charlotte also thinks she’ll one day main event WrestleMania. While that’s cute, it’s not happening during her career. Pay-per-view? Maybe. Non-NXT Network Special? I’d say it’s a near lock.

But you know what trail Charlotte (and Nikki) can blaze?

This one:

That’s right. Nikki cheats to win (even via interference that doesn’t get her disqualified) and the WWE sets up the first ever Divas Hell In A Cell match at, well, Hell In A Cell. Which just happens to be the next pay-per-view. And that’s where Charlotte gets her big win.

But at Night Of Champions?

LOLNIKKIWINS!

B.O.L.D. – The BFFs Get A New BF (Bearded Friend)

Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns have had a tough go of it with The Wyatt Family, including the debut of the Giant Retard himself, Braun Strowman.

Now, before you email Larry to complain, have a look at this pic and tell me I’m wrong!

And if Dave Prazak were calling WWE shows (with CM Punk on color), he’d describe Braun as having “freaky…retard…strength.”

But this is WWE, and JBL will just mutter something about building a sports entertainer from the ground up.

Now then, for the mystery tag team partner for Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. The obvious choice is Erick Rowan, thanks to his history with The Wyatt Family. Then you have Randy Orton, written out by The Wyatts but already reporting for duty backstage. You also have Seth Rollins, but as I told you earlier, he’s busy (and it’s WAY too soon for a Shield reunion).

So what do you do? There are NXT talents at your disposal like Baron Corbin, but who wants to see that. Samoa Joe is a great option, but I don’t see it happening.

I could say this guy, just to keep my streak going…

But I don’t think that’s happening, at least not here anyway.

The WWE likes making money, and there is one guy sitting on the sidelines who presents a great opportunity to make money. He’d get people talking, so his appearance makes perfect sense.

So the WWE will simply say YES! to one guy’s desire to return to the ring…

And the fans will claim they somehow changed the WWE’s booking again. But that’s not a bold prediction, it’s something you can set your watch to.

Except my watch is a cell phone, and the cell phone tower sets its clock.

B.O.L.D. – It’s an OLD DAY, yes it is!

“Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Houstonnnnnnn, don’t you dare be sour, cllllllllllllap for your two-time champs, and feeeeeeel the powaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…

…of The Dudleyz putting my big ass through a table and becoming 24-time tag team champions!”

“It’s an old OLD DAY, yes it is!”

I know, it’s not THAT bold, considering two of the eight panelists on our Roundtable picked them. But it is best for business, as I already told you.

The tag team division is getting hot right now, and The Dudley Boyz are in position to really put some people over. While I know a win over them would be great for Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, they don’t need it. They’re one of the most over acts in the company, and it’s basically impossible for the fans to boo them. It happens to all the best heels.

B.O.L.D. – FINALLY!

Okay, so there are seven matches already on the main card, and I predicted an eighth already with Sheamus cashing in. Maybe Ziggler gets a flash pin on Rusev or something, because I am adding another one!

It’s NXT, and while all of their titles won’t be defended, I think one does. The NXT Championship. It’ll be entertaining as hell, and we get to see Finn Balor’s entrance once again, in the large-scale stage of a WWE pay-per-view.

And at some point this prediction has to work out, damnit!
