Greg DeMarco’s Bold Predictions: WWE WrestleMania 31

March 29, 2015 | Posted by Greg De Marco

It’s WrestleMania time, but you’re not quite ready for the WWE’s annual “Grandest Stage” event. Why? Because you haven’t ready Greg DeMarco’s WrestleMania 31 BOLD Predictions!

It’s fun to predict what will happen at WrestleMania—and the amazing staff here at 411Mania already did that in our 411 Roundtable Preview: WWE Wrestlemania 31.

But contained below are bold predictions for the event. Not likely to happen (a point most of you will you’ll undoubtedly forget by the time you reach the comments section), these are indeed B.O.L.D.: Bullheaded, Outlandish, Lascivious, and Deplorable. But if one hits, I can promise you’ll never hear the end of it!

Now then, let’s have some fun!

John Cena Hits The Ring…First…And Turns Heel!

Another amazing moment I described was John Cena kicking off the pay-per-view as the first man through the curtain. This card is loaded and I don’t see the point in John Cena’s match being fourth on the card. Why not have it first?

Vince McMahon has always preached the importance of the WrestleMania opener. Put Cena in that spot. Let the kids and the women in the crowd go wild for him, then give the smarks what they really want.

A John Cena heel turn.

Rusev is an unstoppable monster and I have a feeling he’ll have the crowd behind him at WrestleMania. We’ve also been provided with more than enough clues on Twitter to know that Lana is making her return on Sunday.

She last left because Rusev sent her away—she’s the reason he even has to defend against John Cena at WrestleMania.

Lana screws Rusev, handing him his first loss and John Cena becomes United States Champion—HEEL United States Champion. Why? Because that’s Best For Business.

Miz & Mizdow Escalate To…Nothing

It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t think Damien Mizdow will be turning on The Miz at WrestleMania, and most thin he’s winning the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That win, to me, is either going to Sheamus or (most likely) Ryback.

I’ve said that Miz and Mizdow explode in the middle of the battle royal. My BOLD Prediction? It doesn’t happen at all.

Until Raw.

The Battle Royal taking place on the Kickoff lends itself to this even more—why waste this moment there?

WrestleMania is going to see Damien Mizdow “accidentally” eliminate The Miz, which will result in Miz demanding he eliminate himself. Mizdow will be conflicted and will either eliminate himself or will be eliminated while refusing the Miz’s demands.

Let the drama escalate during Raw, where Mizdow finally has enough and kicks the crap out of Miz. The pop will be enormous, and the moment will hopefully lead to a face push for Mizdow.

But it’s not happening at WrestleMania, it’s happening on Raw.

Bray Wyatt kills The Deadman, The Undertaker Lives On

Bray Wyatt got exactly what he asked for at WrestleMania 31. The Undertaker.

The Deadman’s Streak ended at the hands of Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 30, and now Bray Wyatt is going to finish the job.

He’s going to make the undead…dead. Bray Wyatt is going to kill The Deadman.

The Undertaker is likely going to win this match. I think he wins it with Hell’s Gate, where Wyatt taps out faster than most would expect. Wyatt then sits back in the corner while Undertaker celebrates, until moving in for the…handshake?

Wyatt shakes hands with the Deadman and they embrace in a moment that appears to break kayfabe. The Undertaker raises Bray’s hand in a “passing of the torch” moment that doesn’t last as Bray viciously attacks Undertaker from behind, hitting more than one Sister Abigail on a chair and putting ‘Taker in a casket that was at ringside as part of the elaborate entrance for The Undertaker.

Bray will summon some sort of theatrics that seems to end The Undertaker once and for all.

We’ll see The Undertaker again, likely in his retirement match at WrestleMania 32. But he’ll be The American Bad Ass Undertaker, the persona he’ll maintain post-retirement.

Brock Lesnar killed The Streak, Bray Wyatt kills The Deadman.

R-Truth Wins The Ladder Match

One of the more frustrating matches for internet fans at WrestleMania is the 7-man Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship. Three of the featured competitors are Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan—three people we’d all rather see have a bigger role on the card (especially given Bryan’s recent revelations about his injuries).

Yet here they are, joining champion Bad News Barrett, Luke Harper, Stardust and R-Truth in a multi-man match that seems to hold less meaning.

Well I hate to break it to you, but the worst news is yet to come…R Truth is WINNING IT!

That’s right, R-Truth will come out on top, literally. His story going into the ladder match is he’s afraid of heights, and that’ll obviously come into play in the match. So much so that when he wins he’ll be as surprised as anyone.

I don’t buy that the WWE cares more about the Intercontinental Championship now, or that they want Daniel Bryan to hold it so he can main event house shows. He can main event house shows as he his now, he doesn’t need the secondary championship to do it.

R-Truth leaves as champion, and much like WrestleMania 29, Bad News Barrett will win it right back at RawAfterMania.

Part 1 – Mr. Money In The Bank Becomes Mr. World Champion

“I’ve been saying this for months, so I can’t possibly back away now: Roman Reigns will win the 2015 Royal Rumble, main event WrestleMania in a victory over Brock Lesnar, and immediately lose the title to Seth Rollins when Money In The Bank is cashed in—for the first time ever—at a WrestleMania.”

That was me, in my Bold Predictions for 2015. Hell, that’s been me since August, and I truly can’t back away now.

I also wrote that the WWE can still give us 5 Amazing Moments at WrestleMania, and all are still possible. The most amazing? A WrestleMania cash in. It’s never been done before, and it’s the perfect scenario to launch the careers of both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.

It’s quite simply, actually. Roman Reigns wins out over Brock Lesnar after a hard fought match that obviously leaves Lesnar spent. It takes everything Reigns has to simply get on the ropes to celebrate. Enter Seth Rollins who attacks him with the briefcase, complete with a Curb Stomp to the case. He then cashes in, covers and gets a near fall. One more Curb Stomp and Reigns is finished.

Roman still “looks strong,” is protected and Seth Rollins just stole the spotlight from his former Shield brother.

If Rollins loses to Randy Orton on the undercard, you now have two possible challengers for Rollins in Orton and Reigns. Last year built one mega-star in Daniel Bryan, this year the WWE can build two.

Part 2 – It Only Happens On The WWE Network

The WWE doesn’t want you to watch WrestleMania 31 on pay-per-view. On Raw, they basically had JBL make anyone who orders the PPV look like the biggest moron around. They’ve pinned their hopes dreams, and more importantly future, on the WWE Network.

Sting debuted during a free month. Sting’s first in-ring promo happened on the Network. Both Vince McMahon and Triple H has sat down with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin on the Network.

And now the biggest Money In The Bank cash-in in WWE history is happening on the Network. And ONLY the Network.

Brock Lesnar is going to lose to Roman Reigns. Reigns will celebrate and the PPV feed will end. The Network will seamlessly keep airing, and Roman will be attacked by Seth Rollins. Rollins cash-in goes exactly like I described above, but it only happens for those paying $9.99.

BOLD? Believe…THAT!

Bonus BOLD Prediction –
Finn Balor Makes A Theatrical Debut at RawAfterMania

Finn Balor is rumored to be at WWE TV for the next several weeks, along with Adrian Neville. While he’s been a standout of WWE NXT, only a small fraction of the Raw viewing audience has seen his amazing entrance and even more amazing in-ring ability. He’s one of the few that can overcome being barely 200 pounds and under 6-feet tall in the WWE, and he’s going to do just that.

So when he makes his Raw debut, enjoy it. It’s going to be a great moment, and you’ll no longer be one of the “cool kids” who knows about Finn Balor. Everyone will. And the rest will be history.
