Marc Maron To Play Male Lead In Netflix’s G.L.O.W. Series

TVLine reports that Marc Maron will play the male lead in Netflix’s upcoming wrestling comedy G.L.O.W.. He will play a Hollywood director named Sam Sylvia who has seen better days. Sylvia has a “complicated history with women” and “now must lead 14 of them on the journey to wrestling stardom.”

The half-hour series is set in Los Angeles. It stars Alison Brie as a struggling actress who becomes a TV wrestler to try and become famous. It’s based on the real organization G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) that ran from 1986 to 1990 as an unscripted syndicated series. The first season will consist of ten episodes. It was created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, who will also be the showrunners. Jenji Kohan and Tara Herrmann will executive produce.
