Matt Sydal

As previously reported, Matt Sydal is back in the US following his legal issues in Japan. Sydal was arrested for possession of cannabis on September 23rd. Sydal was caught with a “hidden pipe containing liquid cannabis two and a pipe containing cannabis two of a state of being attached to the electronic cigarette” and arrested at Kansai airport. Sydal was mysteriously pulled from the September 25th Destruction in Kobe event, and replaced with David Finlay Jr.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Sydal did lose his job with New Japan Pro Wrestling. The newsletter goes on to explain that viewpoint from both a public and legal standpoint of marijuana is very different in Japan than the U.S. and everyone that works in Japan knows about it. He should be resuming his wrestling career on the U.S. indies very shortly. This is not looked at as a positive for him possibly getting back with WWE.
