NJPW Tag League Day One Results 11.22.14: Tokyo, Japan

Day 1 of the 2014 World Tag League took place this morning at Korakuen Hall I’m Tokyo. Teams are split into two block, with each team wrestling once. Teams gain two points for a victory.
In non tournament matches:
* Karl Anderson, Doc Gallows, Bad Luck Fale & Tama Tonga (Bullet Club) defeated Captain New Japan, Tiger Mask, Ryusuke Taguchi & Jushin Liger.
* Mike Bennett & Matt Taven defeated BUSHI & KUSHIDA.
* Toru Yano, Shinsuke Nakamura & Tomohiro Ishii (CHAOS) defeated Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe & Kota Ibushi.
Tournament matches:
Block A:
* Hiroyoshi Tenzan & Satoshi Kojima defeated Rob Conway & Jax Dane. Tenzan declared his intentions to challenge for the NWA World championship.
Block B:
* Lance Archer & Davey Boy Smith, Jr defeated Takashi Iizuka & Minoru Suzuki in a meeting of Suzuki-Gun members.
Block B:
* Yuji Nagata & Manabu Nakanishi defeated Katsuyori Shibata & Hirooki Goto.
Block A:
* Tetsuya Naito & La Sombra defeated Yujiro Takahashi & AJ Styles.
Block A:
* Kazuchika Okada & YOSHI-HASHI (CHAOS) defeated Yoshitatsu & Hiroshi Tanahashi. After the match Okada hit Tanahashi with a tombstone and stood over the IWGP Heavyweight Champions.
NJPW announced that Yoshitatsu is out of the remainder of the World Tag League due to a neck injury, presumably caused by the Styles Clash as Power Struggle where Yoshitatsu landed on his neck similarly to Roderick Strong earlier on the year in ROH.
