Note on The WWE Women’s Tournament Being Named The Mae Young Classic
May 25, 2017 | Posted by
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE Women’s Tournament being named The Mae Young Classic has signaled a change in the company line. The company had long promoted Moolah as the all-time greatest because she dominated the title that she owned and was close with Vince’s father. They have now moved on, looking at Young as the Babe Ruth of women’s wrestling in their own history. It’s also noted that Stephanie McMahon was close to Young.
