Prosecutors Seek Mental Capacity Reports in Jimmy Snuka Murder Case
– PWInsider reports that the prosecution in the murder case against Jimmy Snuka have filed a motion asking the judge to compel Snuka’s lawyers to hand over their reports on his mental capacities. The site reports that according to the prosecution, Snuka’s lawyers have ignored three requests to hand over their findings on Snuka’s mental competency.
Snuka is charged with involuntary manslaughter and third-degree murder in the death of Nancy Argentino, his girlfriend at the time, in May of 1983. Snuka has been undergoing mental health evaluations to determine his mental competency to stand trial, with a hearing on the matter set for May 13th.
According to the report, one of Snuka’s lawyers told Chief Deputy District Attorney Charles F. Gallagher, “No, your expert should be able to complete his evaluation without copying off my expert.” Both sides were ordered to have their experts examine Snuka. The results of the mental competency hearing will determine whether the case will proceed.
