Ron Simmons Reflects on Winning the WCW World Title from Vader

– ABC2 recently interviewed WWE Hall of Famer Ron Simmons, who discussed his pro wrestling career, becoming a Hall of Famer, and more. Below are some highlights and a video of the segment:

Simmons on wrestling factions: “A faction’s success in professional wrestling can be judged on how many stars off shoot it. Look who was in that group. There was the Rock, and [current WWE wrester] Mark Henry among others. I would call that pretty successful.”

Simmons on his Hall of Fame induction: “This business has been so good to me and being inducted into the Hall of Fame ranks right at the top. I’m so thankful to be considered among the all-time greats along with guys like Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Bruno Samartino and Dusty Rhodes who I grew up wanting to emulate. I’ve been so fortunate.”

Simmons on his world title win: “That feeling on that night was so special and the way the fans celebrated with me is something that I will always remember. Being able to share that historic moment with the fans that supported me through everything meant more than you’ll ever know.”
