Seth Rollins Discusses His Angle With Jon Stewart, Rude Fans, More

– Seth Rollins recently spoke with The Chicago Tribute, here are the highlights…

On Working With Jon Stewart: Jon caught wind of the segment because one of his assistants was a fan. She said, “Hey, you should make a video replying to what Seth Rollins said about you.” Sure enough, it popped up online and things kind of snowballed from there. He helped me win the US Championship at SummerSlam. It’s cool how stuff happens. Jon was tremendous. It helps that he’s a fan of what we do. I’m a fan of what he does. I’d been watching him on “The Daily Show” for years. One thing I never thought I would get to do is end up on “The Daily Show,” not once, but twice. I’ve had a few people come up to me and say “I don’t watch wrestling, but I saw you on ‘The Daily Show.’” That’s kind of cool.

On Reports He’s Mean to Fans: I’m not mean to fans because I’m a bad guy. I’m mean to them because they’re rude. If they stalk me at the airport at 4 in the morning, don’t expect to get a picture. That’s not OK. They can’t hang outside my hotel or come to the gym and stare at me for a half hour and expect me to be like “Cool. Awesome.” My favorite thing is to just run into fans coincidentally. Today the National Car Rental guy recognized me and got so excited and wanted to take a picture. Awesome. It was a fan that happened to run into me. To me, there’s a distinct difference. Don’t get me wrong — our fanbase is super passionate and I love them, but there’s a difference between stalking me at the airport and just happening to see me.

On Staying in The Midwest: I’m never leaving. I just like the people and the attitude. I like the seasons. Fall, right now, is the best time of year. It’s so perfect outside. I love the simplicity of it. I travel a lot and life is crazy, particularly now that I’m the world heavyweight champion. It’s nice when I have days off to go home and relax and literally take the weight off my shoulders and enjoy the simple things.
