Shawn Michaels Says Vince McMahon Approached Him For WrestleMania Match
– Shawn Michaels has said that Vince McMahon wanted him for a match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania this year. Michaels discusses the situation in the below clip from tonight’s Table For 3, which airs on the WWE Network after Raw. Speaking with Styles and Kevin Nash, the WWE Hall of Famer said that people have come up to him in the past about potential matches but that he hadn’t been formally pitched an idea for a match until this year, when McMahon approached him.
“Different writers, or this person, or producer, whatever, have asked,” he said. “But for the first year ever, it was the first time Vince asked.” Michaels added that his work at the Performance Center led some to bellieve he wanted to get into the ring. Michaels retired following his match with Undertaker at WrestleMania 26 in 2010.
