Twitter Account for 5 Star Wrestling Promoter Gets Hacked, Claims CM Punk Accepted Offer to Compete in Tournament
– As previously reported, 5 Star Wrestling promoter Daniel Hinkles started a publicity stunt last week, claiming he would pay former WWE Superstar CM Punk $1 million to return to the ring and take part in 5 Star Wrestling’s upcoming 128-man tournament next month in Liverpool, England. The story was clearly an attention-grabbing move. But now, it seems the publicity stunt has backfired, and someone has tried to take the stunt too far.
Hinkles had claimed the $1 million offer for Punk was genuine, even though Punk has shown no interest in making a return to pro wrestling. However, there were messages on Hinkles’ Twitter account earlier today claiming that Punk accepted the offer and would be competing in the tournament. Per WrestlingInc.com, Hinkles’ account was likely hacked because his Twitter account has now been retreated, so the tweets should not be taken seriously.
I am delighted to announce that @CMPunk will participate in our 128 man tournament starting June 10th in Liverpool. Get your tickets now!
