Various News: Cody Rhodes Set For G1 Tournament, WWE No Longer Interested in Indian Olympian
– WZ reports that during a Q&A ahead of ROH Supercard of Honor, Cody RHodes said that he will be a part of this year’s NJPW G1 tournament.
– WWE VP Canyon Ceman told News 18 that they are no longer looking to sign Indian Olympian Sushil Kumar. Ceman said that it was too difficult to convince Kumar to move from India to the USA and leave behind his national icon status.
Ceman said that the company is still looking to sign an Indian amateur wrestler, saying, “It has to be at the right time in their lives. It has to be the right time in our system. Look we want to serve our Indian audience and out India audience is large and passionate. So we know we need to find that guy or those three guys or that women who can make it big. There is a female wrestler Kavita, who is coming to Dubai for the WWE tryouts. We are going to have future Indian stars, I can guarantee that but it is hard to say where they are going to come from.”
Ceman added that WWE plans to start holding promotional events in India every year.
