Various News: Details On Women In Wrestling Events, Iron Sheik Remembers Verne Gagne

– Masters of Ring Entertainment announced two events for May 23 at the Coastline Convention Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. Both events will honor women in wrestling.

The Women in Wrestling Fan Expo runs from 10 AM to 5 PM. It includes Trish Stratus, Amy Dumas (Lita), Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria/Tara), Lisa Moretti (Ivory), Terri Runnels, GLOW’s Little Egypt, Missy Hyatt and Santana Garrett. The same night, an honorary banquet called “Lasting Legacy – A Tribute to Women In Wrestling” will be hosted with Stratus as the headliner.

– In an interview with PodNasty, Iron Sheik gave his thoughts on Verne Gagne. He said: “He was one of the best, he was the greatest with a great wrestling background and professional, amateur, and he was excellent. God bless him and I’m sorry about [his passing]. He was the best, one of the best.”
