WWE News: New Day To Hit Tag Team Landmark, Jax Extends Undefeated Streak

September 25, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

– With her win over Alicia Fox on the Clash of Champions pre-show, Nia Jax extended her record since coming to the main roster to 7 – 0 in her PPV debut.

– With the New Day’s successful retention of the Raw Tag Team Championships tonight, they’re set to hit 400 days as champions Monday on Raw. This makes them the longest holders of any WWE Tag Team Title since Demolition reigned for 478 days from March 21st, 1988 to December 13th, 1989.

Only three of the currently-active titles have ever had 400 day-plus champions. CM Punk was the last to do so with his 434-day WWE Championship reign that began in 2001, while the US Championship’s last 400 day-plus run was Rick Rude with a 419-day run that ended in 1993. The Intercontinental Championships’ last 400-day run was the Honky Tonk Man’s record-breaking 454-day reign that started on June 2nd, 1987.
