WWE News: Update on Crazzy Steve Signing With WWE, WWE Delays in Signing Talents
– According to Pwinsider.com, Crazzy Steve announced today he was now accepting independent bookings “for a limited time.” He received WWE interest and opted out of his Impact deal. The site also reports that Impact had the legal option to renew his contract for an additional year but opted to let him go when he asked for a release; Steve was well liked and it was an amicable departure.
The site adds that they have heard from multiple sources that WWE officials are telling talents that are leaving contracts with other promotions that they will not enter into discussions with them for at least 90 days.
This falls in line with the report at the end of March, where ROH got WWE to back off of several deals/contract offers by threatening them with tampering charges. The deals in play were for talents like Donovan Dijak, Ray Rowe, Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish.
The site speculates that Steve may be taking independent dates for 90-days so that he can then sign with WWE.
