WWE NXT House Show Results 10.28.16 – San Jose, California: Bobby Roode Teams With Samoa Joe Against Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamura

I just got back from the NXT show in San Jose, CA. It was a great show, my friends and I had a blast! Anyways, my report is below…my first one ever, so hopefully its good!

Regal welcomes crowd to the show.

Oney Lorcan vs. Patrick Clark

The crowd is hot for this one. There were lots of Purple Rain chants for Clark who was very over with the Prince gimmick. Both guys are over. Lorcan wins with the half Boston crab.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2nd round match:

Roderick and Aries vs. TM61

Aries came out in street clothes, once both teams out Aries grabs a mic and announces he’s not allowed to compete despite pleading with officials to compete. He says tm61 should forfeit so Aries and Roderick can move to next round since they are the better team. William Regal comes out to confirm that Aries isn’t medically cleared and says Aries can’t compete tonight but he can next week. Says one should face Roddy, whoever wins their team advances. They agree. So it’s Shane Thorne vs. Roderick Strong. TM61 is not over at all and only half the crowd knew who Roddy is. Roddy back dropped Thorne on the top of one turnbuckle, throne feel to the outside. Roddy followed and backdropped him on the apron. Lots of oohs and ahhs. Thorne wins by distraction and roll up. This was a great mAtch, both guys worked really hard and won the crowd over by the end.

Buddy Murphy vs. Wesley Blake

Murphy cuts a promo on the crowd to get some heat since he didn’t have any. He says the fans are puppets and he’s the master. Blake comes out doing his Beautiful Body gimmick, though he’s sporting one helluva gut these days… Murphy attacks Blake before the bell rings. The crowd doesn’t care at all about this match since both guys are trying to work as heels. Lots of delete chants. Blake wins with a frog splash off the top, but not before throwing out some streamers prior to his splash for the pin. This match was awful in the sense that the people didn’t like either guy. NO HEAT!!

Women’s match up next, for the NXT women’s title:

Daria Berenato vs. Asuka

Asuka is way over, as expected. Solid match, Asuka wins with the rear naked choke.

Intermission

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic match up next:

Rich Swann and No Way Jose vs. Authors of Pain

Swann and Jose are way over, and Paul Ellering was more over than his guys. Authors beat the crap out of Rich Swann, before a hot tag to Jose. Authors of Pain eventually hit the clothesline and leg sweep finisher on Jose for the pin.

Billie Kay w/ Peyton Royce vs. Ember Moon

Ring announcer says to the crowd that Billie and Peyton demand to be referred to as the “best friends of NXT”, which got some heat.

Nice back and forth match. Ember wins with the stunner off the top rope for the win.

Main event time

Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe vs. Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamura

Awesome awesome fun match, lots of comedy. Heels worked over Dillinger for a bit prior to the hot tag to Nakamura, who hit Kinshasha on Roode for the pin.
