Andrea D’Marco is your hostess and ring announcer for the evening.

– Tino Sabbatelli def. Patrick Clark – Solid opener. Clark is playing up a more flamboyant character. He dresses in velour tights, big, puffy shirts, and a glittery headband. He does all of this while blowing kisses to the crowd. Most of this match was Clark working on the arm of Tino until Tino made the big comeback and got the win.

– Aliyah def. Bianca Blair – This was not a good match. It had some decent moments. It was Blair’s first ever match and it showed. She has some great athletic skills, including good strength and great agility. She did a brilliant flip off the top rope. Unfortunately, there were a lot of points where time just stood still and no one was sure what to do. It went on too long considering who was involved. There’s a lot of raw skill in Bianca Blair, but she’s very early in her career and it’s going to take time for it to fully materialize.

– Tucker Knight and Niko Bogojevic def. Angelo Dawkins and Kenneth Crawford – The crowd really dug the team of Knight and Bogojevic. They’re a fun, babyface hoss team who can move well in the ring too. The match itself was solid. It was the Niko and Tucker working their size advantage until their opponents used some dirty tricks to get the upper hand. Niko eventually got the big tag and they got the win when Niko slingshotted Crawford into a Tucker Knight powerslam.

– Andrade Cien Almas def Oney Lorcan. – This was a decent match. Considering who was involved, it could have been a bit better, or at least longer. Andrade is working a more aggressive style and it fits him well. Almas got the win with a DDT variation.

Post match: Andrade attacks Lorcan after the match, but Oney runs him off with a blockbuster and a running uppercut.

INTERMISSION

– Asuka and Ember Moon def. Billie Kay and Peyton Royce – Really enjoyable match. All four were working hard, and Ember put in a lot of work as the babyface in peril. Royce and Kay used a lot of quality teamwork to keep Ember away from Asuka, constantly backing her up in the corner and working her over with kicks and chokes. It’s kind of a shame that there isn’t an NXT Women’s Tag Title. Kay and Royce have incredible chemistry and some of their best work has been as a team. Funny note before the match as Kay was posing on the ropes, but when she went to come down, her foot got stuck on the top rope in her cape. She had to call the ref over to get her unstuck.

– Macey Estrella is brought out for a promo. She says the Womens division is about to change. She isn’t a model or actress, but is a US Marine, an amateur state wrestling champion and a mom. She says that she’ll serve destruction to the division like she’s served her country, all while not losing her manners. The promo work was enjoyable. She’s dressed in a full on 50’s pinup model look and talks like a southern belle. The crowd bought into it and that’s not always easy for new talents when they’re sent out in front of a crowd that doesn’t know who they are.

– Cedric Alexander def. Wesley Blake – A really fun match. Cedric was working in some hard chops and solid strikes, while Blake worked Alexander’s knee for most of the match. The crowd loved Alexander and hated Blake, so they were into it. Blake had a solid Figure 4 locked in, but Cedric escaped, made the comeback, and hit the Lumbar Check for the win

– Tye Dillinger and TM61 def. Elias Samson and Sanity (Sawyer Fulton and Alexander Wolfe w/Nikki Cross) – Good to see Samson back in action. Before the match, he played a song for the crowd, basically berating everyone in there and the city of Lakeland as a whole. Samson looked good in the ring, even after the long layoff. Sanity were working extremely aggressive, with Cross even hitting a top rope bulldog on Nick Miller while the ref was distracted. The end came with Dillinger hitting the Tye Breaker on Samson to pick up the win, much to the delight of the crowd.

Notes:

– This marked the in ring debut for Bianca Blair. She is a former Crossfit athlete and track and field star. She recently finished as the top female performer at the Performance Center combine. She has no previous wrestling experience before WWE that I’m aware of.

– Macey Estrella is a former U.S. Marine and is best known for the emotional speech she gave on an episode of Breaking Ground, which was filmed during her WWE tryout

– Bin Wang, the first Chinese talent signed to NXT, was originally advertised for the show, but did not compete and did not make an appearance in front of the crowd

– Meet and Greet before the show was CJ Dunning, Dallas Harper, and Mada

– NXT returns to Lakeland on October 20.
