WWN Pulls Talent From Style Battle Due to White Power Associations
– WWN Live has pulled one of the talents from their Style Battle series due to fan complaints after connections with white power elements were revealed. PWInsider reports that Shlak, who has worked for CZW and will compete in that company’s Tournament of Death next week, was named for the June 16th Style Battle show in Ybor City, Florida which led to criticism from fans who found pictures of him posing with members of a white power band and another of him giving a Nazi salute.
The site notes that Gabe Sapolsky said he would investigate as he wasn’t aware of the situation, and told the site that Shlak was booked based on several recommendations. FloSports then informed WWN that they would not be carrying any of Shlak’s matches as they had received multiple complaintys as well. Shlak was then pulled from the promotion’s bookings.
The site notes that “As you might imagine, Sapolsky wasn’t happy about this scenario taking place at all.”
