Challenge of the Immortals
Battle Hive (Amasis & Worker Ant)vs. The Gentleman’s Club (Chuck Taylor & Orange Cassidy)

Taylor says he came for a good clean fight, but of course kicks Amasis in the stomach instead of locking up. Amasis takes a shoulder block, but comes back with a pair of armdrags. Taylor bails when he sees a forearm coming. Cassidy and Worker Ant tag in. Cassidy doesn’t like Worker Ant flexing. He tries to pull down his arms but is unable to do so. Cassidy very weakly hits the ropes and his shoulder blocks have no effect. Worker Ant mows him down with one of his own. Taylor runs in and suffers the same fate. Worker Ant stretches out Cassidy over his shoulder out of a Kudo Driver position. Taylor kicks Worker Ant in the stomach. Cassidy punches Amasis off of the apron and Superman punches Worker Ant. He wants a Roman Reigns’ spear, but Taylor slams Worker Ant instead. The Gentleman’s Club beat him down. It looks as if Worker Ant has them out of the ring, but Taylor hip tosses Cassidy from the entrance ramp into a headscissors! Cassidy goes for the spear, but Worker Ant spins him out into a flapjack. Amasis takes down Taylor with a calf kick. Cassidy cuts him off. Amasis maneuvers Cassidy into Taylor’s arm, so when Amasis knee strikes Taylor, Taylor falls and DDT’s Cassidy. Worker Ant suplexes Cassidy into a uranage. Amasis lands a standing moonsault. Taylor breaks the pin and pitches Worker Ant to the floor. He delivers Sole Food to Amasis. Amasis knees him in the face. Taylor responds with the Brodie Knee. Worker Ant bicycle kicks Taylor. Amasis dropkicks him to the floor. Worker Ant follows Taylor with a pescado. Taylor avoids it. Worker Ant forearms Taylor back to the floor. Cassidy spits orange juice into Amasis’ face to stop his dive! The Awful Waffle from Taylor to Amasis gives his team the win at 9:08. Fun action from both teams. Worker Ant’s new modified torture rack is pretty awesome. Surprised to see the Gentleman’s Club take it, but not at all disappointed, as everybody loved Taylor. **½

Jakob Hammermeier says his attempt to recruit minions at King of Trios was a bust and looking for a new minion in the South is a moot point. He will crush Argus’ orbital socket since he is not fit to be his minion.

Challenge of the Immortals
Argus vs. Jakob Hammermeier

Argus represents the Snake Pit while Hammermeier represents the BDK. Hammermeier baits Arugs into a kick to the stomach before taking him down with a back elbow. He drops Argus neck first across his knee. Argus forearms Hammermeier to the corner. He charges in but Hammermeier cuts him off with a boot and suplexes him. Argus trips him into a modified stretch muffler which Hammermeier breaks by grabbing the ropes. Hammermeier throws him neck first into the ropes before delivering Gute Nacht for two. He chokes Argus on the middle rope. Argus dropkicks Hammermeier’s leg out. He grabs Hammermeier’s hand to block a punch. He locks his leg around Hammermeier’s arm. Hammermeier knees Argus in the face and nails the Knockout Punch for the pin at 3:35. Well that was short, but effective in getting Hammermeier’s finisher over. *

Mr. Touchdown says tonight Gibsonville gets to see two former Young Lions Cup champions go at it, as he faces Frightmare, a match people have wanted to see for a while. He thinks Frightmare has changed this season, using more cheap tactics than ever. Touchdown says just like his football, Frightmare will get spiked through the ring.

 photo TDvsFrightmare_zpsx47inybf.jpg

“Mr. Touchdown” Mark Angelosetti vs. Frightmare

Frightmare charges with a clothesline. Angelosetti ducks and brings him down in a waistlock. They maneuver for control on the canvas. Frightmare kicks Angelosetti in the ribs to stop a potential backslide. They both land on their feet out of offense from one another. Angelosetti knocks him down with three running shoulder blocks. Frightmare cuts off Angelosetti’s pescado attempt and slingshots in with a double stomp for two. He suplexes Angelosetti for two and drives his knees into his midsection. Frightmare tackles Angelosetti in the corner and uses the ropes for a dropkick to the stomach. Angelosetti explodes out of the corner with a spinebuster. Angelosetti grabs a hammerlock and gives Frightmare a back cracker for two. Frightmare and Angelosetti fight for a suplex. Frightmare drops Angelosetti stomach first across the top turnbuckle post. Angelosetti is able to recover and hoist up Frightmare into a superplex for two. He also delivers a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two. Frightmare tries going up and over in the corner. Angelosetti catches him. Frightmare gets moved to the entrance ramp. Frightmare pulls Angelosetti out with him. Frightmare clotheslines him back in. He picks up momentum on the apron and runs into the ring with a tornado DDT. Angelosetti kicks out. They fight to the ring apron where Angelosetti shoulder tackles Frightmare to the floor. Frightmare gets back to the apron before Angelosetti can attempt a pescado. However, Angelosetti palm strikes Frightmare back to the floor. He skins the cat back in and finally lands the pescado. In the ring, Angelosetti shoulder tackles Frightmare twice in the corner. Frightmare cuts him off with a yakuza kick. Frightmare misses Kneecolepsy. Angelosetti crucifix pins him for two. Frightmare lands a crucifix driver for the pin at 11:03. Excellent back and forth wrestling. Each wrestler stuck with a plan, and for Frightmare it paid off. It also served as a fun follow up from the tag match these two were in six months earlier in this venue. Simple, effective, and exciting wrestling. ***¼

Challenge of the Immortals
Eddie Kingston vs. Oleg the Usurper

Kingston represents the Snake Pit while Oleg represents the Arcane Horde. Each man shoots the other to the ropes to escape headlocks. They can’t budge one another with their running shoulder blocks. Kingston snapmares Oleg out of a test of strength. He outstretches Oleg’s arm while digging his foot into Oleg’s back. Oleg gets to his feet and reverses. Kingston gets to the ropes before Oleg can bring him down. Kingston chops him. Oleg shoulder blocks him to the corner. He picks up speed before splashing Kingston in the corner. Kingston goes to the floor. Oleg comes off the apron with a rolling senton. Oleg accidentally chops the ring post. Kingston notices and targets his attack on Oleg’s hand on the floor and once he gets back in the ring. When Oleg escapes an overhead wrist and shoulder lock, he pummels Oleg’s head with forearm strikes. Kingston chops Oleg. Oleg foolishly chops him back. He gets in a couple shots so Kingston pokes him in the eyes. Oleg manages to splash Kingston against the ropes. He drops Kingston face first onto his knee and cracks him with a big boot. A running somersault senton gets a two count. Kingston fights off of a chokeslam. Oleg catches him with a backbreaker. He calls for Off With His Head. Kingston stands up and gives Oleg a western lariat and regular lariat. The Sliding D only gets him two. Kingston unloads with chops in the corner. Kingston becomes frustrated as Oleg absorbs the chops. Oleg grabs him by the throat and chokeslams Kingston. Off With His Head connects, but with the weakened hand it’s not as effective. Kingston slides his leg under the bottom rope to stop the count. Kingston is able to deliver two Backdrop Drivers. The Backfist to the Future only gets two as Oleg also gets his leg under the ropes. Oleg fights out of another Backdrop Driver attempt. Oleg hits two Usurper Kicks and Off With His Head for the pin at 12:26. This was a Hoss battle, and you’ll find fewer fans of that kind of match than me. I will say that the ending stretch got slightly tiresome. Oleg probably should have just won with the first Off With His Head. It still came off like a big win and to an extent you need to protect Kingston, so I can live with it. ***

Max Smashmaster says they paid all their fines and have avoided suspension for attacking Bryce Remsburg on Night 2 of King of Trios. Smashmaster says they know they’re the real draws and Mike Quackenbush wouldn’t have suspended them even if he wanted to. Tonight, Los Ice Creams will be puddles in the ring, and insinuates they have many methods in disposing of Princess Kimberlee. It happened in Virginia (Altar Egos), it happened in Connecticut (Storming the Castle), and it will happen again tonight.

Challenge of the Immortals
Crown & Court (Princess Kimberlee & Los Ice Creams (El Hijo del Ice Cream & Ice Cream Jr.)) vs. The Wrecking Crew (Max Smashmaster, Blaster McMassive & Flex Rumblecrunch)

Kimberlee’s team represents Crown & Court while the Devastation Corporation represents the Wrecking Crew. Rumblecrunch fights off all three members of Crown & Court with ease. However, when Rumblecrunch goes to the top rope, all of Crown & Court toss him down. Smashmaster and McMassive attack Los Ice Creams on the floor. McMassive mows down Rumblecrunch with a running elbow smash. Smashmaster lands a senton splash. McMassive throws her out. Hijo is cut off with a snapmare, Perfect neck snap, and boot to the face. He throw Hijo to the floor. Jr.’s running double axe handle to Smashmaster is not effective. Smashmaster gives him a haymaker. Kimberlee tries to fight Rumblecrunch. Rumblecrunch stops her spin kick, drapes her leg across the top rope and kicks her in the fact. He gives her a kneeDT. TDev Corp join Rumblecrunch in working over Kimberlee in their corner, focusing on her left leg with their offense. Bryce endures some verbal bullying during this period. Smashmaster misses a body block on the ropes, accidentally sitting down on the second rope and hurting his groin. Kimberlee crawls over and tags in Jr., whop chops all of the Dev Corp. All of the Dev Corp quickly beat him down. Smashmaster splashes him. However, he avoids Rumblecrunch’s splash and McMassive’s legdrop. He rolls up McMassive for two. Smashmaster accidentally clotheslines Smashmaster. Jr. throws Smashmaster face first into Hijo’s feet. Rumblecrunch comes off the top with a shoulder tackle, accidentally taking down McMassive! Hijo Magistral cradles Rumblecrunch with a jackknife from Jr. Rumblecrunch kicks out just in the nick of time. Kimberlee limps into the ring. She kicks at Rumblecrunch with her right leg, crumbling when all weight is on her one leg. She hits a spin kick to Rumblecrunch but only gets two. Smashmaster throws Kimberlee to the floor. Hijo wants a satellite headscissors. Smashmaster cuts him off with a tombstone. He delivers a second one. He pins Hijo, but pulls him up on a two count. McMassive forces Jr. to watch while Rumblecrunch holds onto Kimberlee. Bryce threatens a excesivo castigo (excessive punishment) DQ. Smashmaster doesn’t listen and gives Hijo another tombstone. Bryce calls for the bell, giving Crown & Court the win via DQ at 13:58. The Wrecking Crew says they don’t care because they have the lead in the COTI. From a storytelling perspective this was excellent. The wrestling was very good too, but the beatdown segment on Kimberlee went a little too long. **¾

Hijo is stretchered out of the building.

The Proletariat Boar of Moldova says he and his opponent tonight, Shynron, both came up short at King of Trios on Night 3. Shynron looks to right the ship with his flying antics. Boar wants to know what Shynron is going to do when the Boar neutralizes his offense and when he finds out that the Boar is War.

Shynron vs. The Proletariat Boar of Moldova

This is a rematch from “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.” Juan Francisco de Coronado and Prakash Sabar are in the Boar’s corner. Shynron catches Boar off guard with a backhand spring up into a lateral press. Boar gets in a couple punches to the stomach but falls to a Spirit Cutter. A second rope Phoenix Splash is only good for two. Shynron punches Boar multiple times in the corner. He catches Boar with a sunset flip. Coronado distracts the referee so Sabar can interfere and hit the Bronco Buster. Sabar feeds Shynron to Boar for a side slam. Boar chokes Shynron with his boot and Coronado chokes him on the bottom rope. He sits down across Shynron’s back and neck. Shynron avoids an armdrag and Oklahoma rolls Boar for two. Shynron charges into a Bear Hug from Boar. Boar gets two with a powerslam. Same goes for a vertical suplex/elbow drop combo. Boar traps Shynron in the ropes and slaps him in the face. He then drives his knees into Shynron’s stomach. Shynron flips out of an overhead belly-to-belly suplex and nails a Pele kick. Boar catches a sole but kick but Shynron enzuigiri’s him. Boar catches Shynron with an over the shoulder stomach breaker. Shynron comes off his shoulders with a Frankensteiner. Boar sends Shynron to the apron. Shynron kicks Boar in the side of the head and slingshots in with a neckbreaker. Cornado grabs Shynron’s boot. Shynron kicks him down. He low bridges the top rope to bring Boar to the floor. Shynron hangs off of a ceiling beam and comes off with a crossbody onto all of the United Nations. In the ring, Boar blocks the Dragon Twist. He misses the Gore. Shynron hits the Dragon Twist for the pin at 8:19. Shynron seemed a slight step off in this match, and most of the action was fairly pedestrian outside of his big ceiling beam spot. Not as good as their first encounter, but passable. **

Icarus, Dasher Hatfield & Heidi Lovelace vs. Battleborn (Kevin Condron, Lucas Calhoun & Missile Assault Man)

This is a pseudo rematch from “King of Trios 2015, Night 1”, with Lovelace in Mr. Touchdown’s spot (although he is in the Dugout’s corner for the match). Hatfield is sporting a new stiched elbow pad Angelosetti gifted him on the most recent Event Center. At Trios, Condron hit Icarus with a chair behind the referee’s back to score the victory. The Snow Troll is in Battleborn’s corner. Condron is in a white tee shirt, black pants, and brown boots. He seems distant and completely disinterested in wrestling.

Condron immediately lays down for Icarus. Icarus is confused and annoyed. Calhoun picks up Condron and sends him outside the ring. Calhoun does some dancing after cleanly breaking a lock up on the ropes. Icarus chops him. Calhoun ducks a clothesline, but Icarus kicks him in the head. He throws Calhoun and goes after Condron. Condron hops off the apron so Missile comes in. Missile gets in an uppercut. Icarus lands a flying lariat. He also sends Missile to the floor and calls Condron in. Once again Condron refuses. Icarus goes to dive, but Calhoun and Missile both cut him off. They trade offense on Icarus in the corner. Icarus avoids a running attack from Missile. Hatfield comes in with a few shots before taking down Missile with a swinging neckbreaker. He goes for the People’s Elbow and asks Angelosetti to hold onto the pad. The elbow connects. Calhoun rolls him up. Hatfield kicks out. He snaps off two armdrags and trips Calhoun into a Romero Special. Lovelace gives Calhoun a Complete Shot out of the submission. Lovelace ducks Missile’s bicycle kick. She throws a flurry of kicks and knees Missile in the face. She swings Missile into the corner with a headscissors. She goes to drive him face first into the turnbuckle. Missile however swings her forward off his shoulders, causing her to crash face first into the top turnbuckle. Lovelace is beaten down in the Battleborn corner, with Condron still providing no help or insight. He does however jump in the ring when Missile holds Lovelace up in a neck tree hang. It reminds him of Deucalion’s chokebreaker, so he interjects and sends Missile outside as he yells “no more killing.” She ducks Condron’s clothesline. Icarus tags in and violently Judo throws Condron twice before pummeling him with forearms to the back with chops as well. He nails a dropkick in the corner. Calhoun spins out Icarus into a Samoan Drop. Hatfield bicycle kicks Calhoun. Hatfield pulls Missile for the Cyclone neckbreaker. Missile fights it off and gives Hatfield three bridging Northern Lights suplexes. Lovelace drops Missile with a Yoshi Tonic. Calhoun breaks the cover and clotheslines Hatfield to the floor. Angelosetti puts the elbow pad back on Hatfield’s arm. Meanwhile, Calhoun rocks Lovelace with a punch. In the corner, Lovelace forearms Calhoun and forearms him to the floor. Angry, Condron grabs a chair. Icarus goes after the Hammer of Peace, the same one he used to rid of Deucalion. However, Icarus can no longer pick the Hammer up! He is no longer worthy. Condron decides to leave the building if murder is going to be Icarus’ solution. Icarus continues to drag the hammer. In the ring, Missile tosses Lovelace into the corner with the Missile Launcher. Hatfield delivers a few underhand chops. He forearms Missile as Missile charges into the corner. Missile seems dazed, and Hatfield comes off the second rope with a sunset flip for the win at 15:19. There was a lot to digest in this bout, but the action helped to tell that story and it was never dull. ***¼

Touchdown surreptitiously slides the elbow pad off of Hatfield as Dasher’s Dugout celebrate in the ring.

Encore Match
Silver Ant s. Juan Francisco de Coronado

Silver Ant sneaks up on Coronado during his lengthy entrance, which scares Coronado. Coronado tries to escape, but he takes many chops instead. Coronado grabs at his antennae to stop him. He catches Silver Ant with a boot from the corner. He tries again but Silver Ant chops him. Coronado back elbows Silver Ant. He comes off of the second rope. Silver Ant catches him mid-air with an armbar. Coronado tries turning it into a German suplex. When Silver Ant evades that, Coronado drops him with a Tiger driver for two. Silver Ant gets two with a Blue Thunder Bomb. He puts on a cloverleaf. Coronado sends Silver Ant into the ropes, giving him a forearm to the neck as he pops back. He does it again. Silver Ant kicks him in the leg. Coronado ducks an enzuigiri and goes for the Coronado Clutch. Silver Ant rolls forward, sending him into the middle turnbuckle. Silver Ant nails an enzuigiri from the apron. Coronado gives him a clothesline. Silver Ant recovers, shaking and grabbing at his head. Coronado tries to run away, but instead flips over Silver Ant and gives him a German suplex. Silver Ant rolls into a Keylock, and Coronado taps out in 4:21. A fun sprint, though it’s puzzling to put these two together now given Silver Ant’s transformation and how he would obviously be cheered. Then again, maybe that’s the point? **

I had a fun time watching this. There were some fun bouts from start to finish and some interesting storyline plot points too. I don't know if this is must see, but it's a certainly a fun, easy watch. Once it pops up on CHIKARATopia I'd consider giving it a watch.
