New The Exorcist: Believer Trailer Teases Death & Damnation
The Exorcist: Believer arrives next month, and a new trailer for the horror sequel teases more of what’s to come. Universal Pictures released the second trailer for the legacy sequel on Tuesday, and you can see it below.
The new trailer features more of Ellen Burstyn reprising her role as Chris MacNeil from the iconic 1974 film, as she attempts to help two new girls who have been possessed. It also teases that the original film’s Regan may well be dead, while the entity possessing one of the new girls says that one of the two will die.
The film releases on October 6th and is directed by David Gordon Green from a script he wrote with Peter Sattler. It stars Leslie Odom, Jr., Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, Norbert Leo Butz, Lidya Jewett, Olivia Marcum and Burstyn and is described as follows:
Since the death of his pregnant wife in a Haitian earthquake 12 years ago, Victor Fielding (Odom) has raised their daughter, Angela (Jewett) on his own.
But when Angela and her friend Katherine (O’Neill), disappear in the woods, only to return three days later with no memory of what happened to them, it unleashes a chain of events that will force Victor to confront the nadir of evil and, in his terror and desperation, seek out the only person alive who has witnessed anything like it before: Chris MacNeil.
