Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

Activision and Treyarch officially revealed in the Call of Duty: Black Ops series with Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The franchise returns for its latest installment later this October. You can check out some of the new reveal trailer for the game that were released this week below.

The game was revealed earlier this week (April 17) during a livestreamed community event that was broadcast worldwide. The event was broadcast in 10 languages to reveal the first look at the game along with some detailed information.

Black Ops 4 will be taking the series in a new direction as a multiplayer experience. The game will also feature a Zombies mode with three full experiences at launch, along with Blackout, which is described as a massive battle royale mode with iconic characters and locations from all of the existing Black Ops games.

The new game will be published by Activision and is developed by Treyarch. Beenox is co-developing the PC version. Speaking on the upcoming game, Call of Duty EVP and GM Rob Kostich stated: “Black Ops 4 gives our community more ways to have fun with their friends than anything Treyarch has ever created and introduces meaningful innovations to every element of the game, including next level tactical team-based multiplayer, the biggest zombies offering yet and Blackout, where the largest map in Call of Duty history brings together the rich universe of Black Ops. More than 200 million players have called Black Ops home, and they’ve played for more than 15 billion hours. This is an incredible community that has inspired the development team to take their innovative gameplay design to new heights.”

Activision is promising that the Blackout mode will have the largest map ever built for a Call of Duty game, saying it will be 1,500 times bigger than Nuketown. In Blackout, players will take the role of classic characters from the series and the original Call of Duty Zombies Origins cast. Players will be able to play solo or in teams, use combat with ground, air, and sea vehicles, and more. Famous Black Ops map locations will located throughout the map, and players will be able to use a massive arsenal of Black Ops weapons.

The game will also feature the return of the Pick 10 system, along with new changes to the weapon controls, combat flow, health regeneration, and player movement. Activision says the game will go “deeper than ever before into the fiction of multiplayer.” Gamers will explore the world as Specialists and master gameplay through solo and multiplayer combat experiences. Based on the announced details, the game will not include its own dedicated single-player campaign or story mode.

The game will also feature a new Zombies experience that will feature three Zombies experiences available at launch: IX, Voyage of Despair, and Blood of the Dead. Activision says this mode will have “immersive new adventures, a brand-new cast of characters and a nefarious new enemy.”

Other features include difficulty levels and in-game tutorial to onboard new players to the Zombies universe. There is also the new mode, Zombie Rush. This will be a new game mode that streamlines the experience, and it will also include new challenges to Zombies veterans.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is due out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on October 12. Players who pre-order the game will get access to the Black Ops 4 Private Beta. Additionally, the PC version will have a fully-optimized experience. For the first time, it will be available on Battle.net, the online gaming service for Blizzard Entertainment.
