Metroid Prime 4

EuroGamer reports that Bandai Namco is working with Nintendo on a fourth entry in the Metroid Prime series. The game will be developed in-house by Nintendo and Bandai Namco Studios Singapore. The game will be released on the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo originally announced the game during their E3 2017 presentation. Nintendo didn’t reveal the studio in charge, except to say it wouldn’t be original series creators Retro Studios. The rumors that it would be Bandai Namco came up after job descriptions from the company were posted on LinkedIn. Staff member profiles eventually revealed that a lead designer was assigned to an “unannounced IP (first person shooter/adventure exclusive to the Nintendo Switch)”.

The game is still early in its development and likely won’t be released this year.
