BioShock Developer Irrational Games Reformed as Ghost Story Games

February 25, 2017 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

Irrattional Games, the development studio behind such acclaimed video games as BioShock, BioShock Infinite, and System Shock 2, is making a comeback of sorts. The studio has been reformed under the new name of Ghost Story Games. The company has started up its new website HERE.

The studio previously closed in 2014, but studio head Ken Levine stayed behind with a core group of developers to start a new project. The company is promising “to create immersive, story-driven games for people who love games that ask something of them.” The new company’s mission statement adds, “While we believe our new games will have strong appeal to fans of BioShock, our new focus allows us to craft experiences where the gameplay is as challenging as the stories.”

The website confirms the company is working on a new game project. According to the company’s FAQs page, the new title is an “immersive sci-fi game with RPG elements.” The game is still currently in early stages of production. More details will be announced later on.
