Mythic Odysseys of Theros Dungeons & Dragons

It appears that not all D&D leaks are done by Amazon, as Penguin Random House looks to have leaked an upcoming Magic: The Gathering-related D&D setting. A page on the publisher’s website went up on Friday for Mythic Odysseys of Theros, a campaign sourcebook for the Greek-themed Magic: The Gathering world. The page was quickly removed but can be seen thanks to Google cache, because nothing is ever gone on the internet.

The page lists a May 19th, 2020 release date and is without a synopsis. The book cover reads, “Clash with the gods of Theros in this campaign setting sourcebook for the world’s greatest roleplaying game.”

Theros is a world in Wizards of the Coast’s CCG that is described as follows:

“Theros is a plane governed by the gods of Nyx, where heroes face monsters, the sea rages, people offer burnt offerings and adventures take place. It is defined by mankind’s struggle against the primal forces of the world, and mankind’s conflict with the many other sapient races that populate the world.”

The setting features several Hellenistically-inspired elements including cities inspired by ancient Greece. It would be the second MtG-set world to cross over to D&D after the Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica released in 2018.

Wizards of the Coast has yet to comment on the news, but an announcement could be coming soon considering the release is less than three months away.
