Call of Duty League Championship To Kick Off Next Month

The Call of Duty League’s first season will culminate with its championship tournament next month. The League announced on Tuesday that the Call of Duty League Championship will begin on August 19th at 3 PM ET/12 PM PT and run through August 30th.

The double-elimination tournament will run from the 18th through the 23rd and winnow the field down to the top four teams. Those four teams will battle on August 29th and 30th for the title. Also set for next month is a Call of Duty League Challengers Last-Chance Qualifier, which will run August 1st and 2nd with the finals on taking place August 15th and 16th. The online competitions will take place in North America, Asia-Pacific, and Europe for a $500,000 prize pool.

Currently the top teams in the COD League are the Atlanta FaZe (250 points), the Chicago Huntsmen (220), The Florida Mutineers (200), The Dallas Empire (190), and The New York Subliners (130). Two tournaments remain before the championship begins, with the next starting this Friday.
