The CHIKARA promotion is getting its own video game. Independent game developer VICO Game Studio and CHIKARA this week announced the new upcoming game title, CHIKARA: Action Arcade Wrestling. The game is due out for a Fall 2019 release on Steam. You can check out the announcement trailer below.

The new title is inspired by old-school, quick-button action of arcade wrestling games. It will feature fast gameplay, comic-book visuals, and a colorful cast of official CHIKARA wrestlers, including Razerhawk, Fire Ant, Hallowicked, Solo Darling, and more.

VICO Game Studio also confirmed that a closed beta will be held for the game this month. Players can sign up for a chance to be a part of the closed beta RIGHT HERE.

Speaking on the announcement, executive producer Dave Horn stated: “Everything we loved about those fast-paced wrestling games from the arcades, we’ve brought into CHIKARA: Action Arcade Wrestling. Eugene [Tchoukhrov, lead programmer] and I saw an opportunity to bring that over-the-top style back combined with the unique CHIKARA brand, and we are looking forward to revealing more of CHIKARA: Action Arcade Wrestling leading up to launch later this year.”

As an arcade-style game, built with the Unreal Engine 4, it’s going to feature more of an over-the-top presentation with crazy special moves and superhuman abilities. The game will start with a roster of more than 30 wrestlers, along with custom options with the Wrestle Factory Creation Suite.

The wrestling game will launch first in Fall 2019 for Steam. The console release date has not yet been announced.
