DC Universe Online remains one of the leaders in free-to-play MMOs, and it is coming to Nintendo Switch this summer. Creative Director SJ Mueller and Executive Producer Leah Bowers told CBR that the superhero MMORPG is set to arrive on the Switch this summer. This marks the first time that the game has been on a Nintendo console at all. You can see a trailer below for the port.

Mueller told the site that she wasn’t sure porting the expansive game to the switch would work, noting, “A hand-held device, a fully built world … even I had my doubts.” But it was something that Bower deeply wanted to do, being such a fan of Nintendo’s brand.

“Bringing the game to the Switch was something that’s very close to my heart,” said Bower. “Nintendo was the first console I really connected with; and yet, I associated the brand with first party or platform games. But when the Switch came out, it blew my mind and highlighted the possibilities that were there.”

The game is expected to include all the expansions on the Switch, including the Aquaman update from last year. It is not yet known if you will need a Nintendo Switch Online connection to play the game.
