You’ll Be Able to Play the D&D Adventure From Stranger Things This Spring

If you loved what we saw of the adventure that Mike Wheeler ran for his friends in Stranger Things, I have some good news for you. According to, Wizards of the Coast announced at New York Toy Fair 2019 that a Stranger Things starter set for Dungeons & Dragons is on the way. The set will ship starting May 1st, 2019 and will feature the hunt for the thessalhydra that was “created” by Mike in the show.

The set is surprisingly reasonably priced at $24.99, particularly considering the price that RPG supplements often cost and the collector value this one may have for some. It will include the following, per the description:

* Stranger Things themed Dungeons & Dragons: embark on an exciting Dungeons & Dragons adventure, Hunt for the Thessalhydra, “created” By the character Mike from the Netflix original series, Stranger Things

It’s important to note that this isn’t the full Player’s Handbook/Dungeon Master’s Guide, but instead features the Lost Mines of Phandelver adventure, the SRD (System Reference Document) with the core rules for the game and some ready-made characters.
