Epic Games Funding $100 Million for Fortnite eSports

Fortnite developer Epic Games revealed in a blog post this week that the company is going to provide $100 million for eSports tournament prize pools for the title. You can read the full statement by the Fortnite Team below.

According to Epic Games, the $100 million prize bools will be for the 2018-2019 eSports season. Epic plans to reveal more details about the competitive structures and platforms for the title’s eSports in the coming weeks.

The online multiplayer survival game is out now. Fortnite is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, iOS, MAC OS. Season 4 content recently launched for the game.

In the 2018 – 2019 season, Epic Games will provide $100,000,000 to fund prize pools for Fortnite competitions. We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game.
