CD Projekt RED has released a 48-minute gameplay walkthrough for its highly anticipated first-person RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. You can check out full gameplay video in the player below.

This is the same gameplay demo that was viewable in the behind-closed-doors presentation at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. It’s set near the beginning of the game and showcases the character creation system. Players will be able to use V as a male or female character and also tweak his/her backstory.

Game Director and CD Projekt RED Head of Studio Adam Badowski also released the following statement on the new gameplay reveal:

“What we’re releasing today was recorded from a game deep in development. Since many of the assets and mechanics in the current version of Cyberpunk 2077 are most likely to be modified, we initially decided to show this gameplay only to media. Elements like gunplay (both in terms of visuals and how RPG stats influence it), netrunning, car physics, or the game’s UI — everything’s pretty much still in the playtest phase and we felt uneasy about publicly committing to any particular design. Animation glitches, work-in-progress character facial expressions, early versions of locations — all this made us hesitant to release what you’re about to see.”

“However, we are also well aware that many of you want to see what the media saw. Although this is probably not the same game you’ll see on your screen when we launch, we still decided to share this 48-minute video with you. This is how Cyberpunk 2077 looks today. Let us know what you think!”

Cyberpunk 2077 will be a narrative-driven, open-world game set in a futuristic and dangerous metropolis called Night City. Players will take the role of V, a hired gun in a world of cybernetic street warriors, netrunners and corporate life-hackers. The game is based on the classic pen and paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 does not yet have an official release date. You can also check out 411’s exclusive gameplay preview for Cyberpunk 2077 from E3 RIGHT HERE.
