Kevin Gill Welcomes A New Contender In Wrestling Video Games

In a recent Fightful interview, Kevin Gill (formerly of GCW) shared his thoughts on the imminent release of AEW Fight Forever and what the new title means for the wrestling genre of video gaming. Gill stated he was pleased to see that WWE would no longer be the default leader in wrestling games. You can find a highlight from Gill below.

On what the arrival of AEW FF might mean for the gaming industry: “I’ve thought a lot about it and now that I recently relocated from the Bay Area, San Francisco, back to Queens, New York, where I started, I’ve been thinking a lot about the video game side of things. Now with AEW entering the video game market in such a huge way, there has been no equal, near equal, anything competitive wrestling wise with a WWE wrestling game in many, many, many, many years. The last time there was no competition is when I saw an opportunity for Backyard Wrestling the video game. Because WCW was gone, ECW was gone. The Attitude Era was over. Blood, violence and the right packaging can sell.”
