If you’ve done any tabletop board gaming, you’re probably familiar with Fluxx. The card game with with ever-changing rules is one of the more popular quick games to use for your gaming nights, being easy to learn and a lot of fun to boot. The rules of the game start very simple: Draw one card, Play one card. As you play cards, they change the rules and add goals, making the game chaotic but exciting as your strategy and victory conditions are forced to change on the fly.

Looney Labs, the company behind the game, has released several versions of the game including Batman, Cthulhu (a personal favorite), and Doctor Who Fluxx alongside more general versions such as Monster Fluxx and Zombie Fluxx.

Now, fans of the game can look forward to adding some licensed comic book and movie action to their games later this year with Marvel and Jumanji-licensed versions. Looney Labs has announced that they’ve partnered with Cardinal/Spinmaster to create licensed games for all channels, and the first two will be Marvel Fluxx and Jumanji Fluxx. The new versions will release in July through Looney Labs, with a special Cardinal version of both out in August.

The Cardinal version will run $15 and be available via mass market, while the Looney Labs version will contain seven bonus cards and will run $20 in specialty and hobby shops.

“We are so excited about these titles! Andy has created some really innovative new cards for these versions that will keep Fluxx fans coming back for more, and partnering with Cardinal means that we will be able to introduce Fluxx, the card game of ever-changing rules, to a much broader audience than ever before,” said Kristin Looney, CEO of Looney Labs. “Our goal is for a win-win-win. Cardinal adds Fluxx to its line of classic card games, Looney Labs reaches a larger audience, and specialty retailers not only get to sell a special version, but they will hopefully experience a sea change in the level of demand for Fluxx products.”
